Merry Christmas. Watching from Horseheads NY. I have the n scale 3040 with sound. I think this warehouse would make a good subject for my switching layout.

I'm curious to know what those particular reporting marks on several of the non-Norfolk Southern-liveried red boxcars stand for - it appears that those have the older "circle and cross" BNSF marking on what would be their upper right hand sides, but the alphabetical reporting mark on the left side of the cars reads "ATW"? I don't know if I've noticed that before elsewhere. FWIW, I have to keep reminding myself that it's nearly January and there are other parts of the country that are having typical winter weather, even if where I am isn't. Out here in the lowlands along the Puget Sound in the PNW, we're still experiencing balmy daytime temps in the upper 40s/low 50s, and nighttime temps in the lower 40s with plenty of our typical rain - though there are reports today of notable snowfall in the Cascade mountain passes to the east. Hope that Witold was treated to a nice Christmas and got some interesting things from Santa Claws 😊. Stay safe, and best wishes for a Happy New Year to you! Looking forward to seeing some more action in 2025.

The warehouse receives paper, last I knew it comes in the form of 500 pound bales. From there, it's trucked out to support printing of all kinds and, I think, making of cardboard boxes. The building housed Mohawk Containers for decades. They made cardboard boxes. I don't believe any manufacturing occurs there now.

Really enjoy your videos, RR. sudden thought here: why do I have the feeling that NYSW is barely eking out a profit? Do their road trains make up for the sparse business on the short hauls?
