Jordan here is a helper for the rebab get a board with a stop on one end measure your length mark on the board place the rebab on the board and cut at the measurement on the board one measurement multiple cut saves time and will go faster .

@unacceptablefringemajority2512 күн бұрын
For cutting rebar, 2 things will save you a lot of time and headache. Setting up a jig to get them to the same length will help a ton instead of measuring every time. Also, get a rebar cutter instead of using the angle grinder.

For tying the rebar with wire, get your self a couple of there - Semi-automatic Rebar Wire Twister Tool. It will be much faster than what you are doing but still cheap!
@waynesellers99292 күн бұрын
... and there are rebar-tying helpers MUCH cheaper than $2,200.00!! For example, you can make/buy a hook that you put in the drill!
@bria67202 күн бұрын
I was wondering if there was a way to use a drill. The hook makes sense !
@slbuwk3 күн бұрын
If precut rebar ties are available, you can use the loops in the ends and a wire twister hook to more quickly tie your rebar joints. Much cheaper than the automatic too, but way faster than individually cutting wire and twisting with pliars
@JackosCAD3 күн бұрын
Jordan, save time and effort dude. The tie wire on the Reo is purely to keep it in place during concrete pour. Do each end and then every 3rd or 4th bar. You should still be able to stand on it in place 😅

As an old construction guy when I got into a bunch of repetitive re-bar cutting(on a budget) What worked best was a 4' pair of bolt cutters. There is enough leverage to get through the re-bar quickly and no power tools required. Alternatively, if the local lumber yard has a re-bar cutter/bender that they will loan or rent, it would be a good investment. Re-bar has hard spots, and the odds of blowing up those little grinding disks are pretty good.

Why are you measuring for just one cut at a time? You could mark all the cuts on one string of rebar at the same time then cut them, without having to stop to measure again. Would save a lot of time. Or, make something that's the length of each rebar piece with each cut marked on it and use that along the rebar to show where to make each cut.
