I think it’s super that you’re teaching these guys how to do this! You can be so proud and they can feel so good knowing and passing it on down the line. Everyone helping everyone. I come from a large family and this is how we all did when we were young. Just jumped in and got it done when one of us had a project. Always felt so good to do that and I wish my health would still allow it but we’re old getting old and useless.😂😂 still have lots of knowledge to pass on though. Love you guys.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Lots of concrete in your future. I would hope you get your hands on three more mixers and plenty of shovel's. Hats off to you. It takes courage to build your own home. I built my first home while working a full time job in 1981. Exhausting but so rewarding. You got this.

Hi Guys! Be very cautious. I'm going to get straight to the point. Be in the lookout for another ("BUG") scorpion. My father said, (and It turned out to be true for us) that they supposedly come in pairs. We weren't on a farm so that may be a factor..It was actually just the Burbs of Hollywood, Fl. but, please keep an eye out. The ones we found were very large and I don't know much more. I'd be so sad if anything happened to you guys! Love & hugs for everyone, And a special Hi Princess Superhero! .. for Sadie I'm so excited each time I see a new video release. You guys are an inspiration

OMG - why don't you just put a spot/tack weld on those rebar thingys.....?????? Would save a ton of time vs. wire wrapping and twisting.......

I think what happened was false expectations: 1. If you move to the rain forest, expect bugs, mold, animals and life everywhere, the forest will not accommodate for you. Better to live in town. 2.if you choose the most expensive town in Panama expect high prices, living just 30min down the mountain in David will significantly decrease the prices. Is not about greengo prices. Same goes for Casco. Make sure you can afford life in those pretty towns. 3. The allergies, well an allergologies would have resolved that easily. 4.if you move to a tropical country, expect a tropical weather, no surprises there.

My grandmother was a genuine tailor with her shop 1930’s thru 1950’s. This led me to periodically fantasize that I had inherited her gift. I would go through these sewing periods in my 20’s & 30’s that were always a disaster. I finally came to terms with my lack of sewing talent in my 40’s. Instead I turned to making jewelry which it turns out I’m quite good at. If your sewing is unsuccessful you might find that your talent lies in a different craft.

Kaylee! So many projects with your sewing machine. From quilts to clothing to hand bags and cloth dolls! What fun you will have teaching Sadie along the way. The foundation is incredible. Love watching everyone build with great love and appreciation. Thank you for sharing how to do everything with joy and love in your hearts.

Please watch Jazz and Crystal on Vanwives. They are building their new home in Baja, Mexico. They are at the same exact spot as you guys with building the rebar towers and twisting the ties. It's fun to watch how they and their crew accomplish the same task. They don't have a rebar bender and are doing it by standing on the rebar and bending it by hand. Very interesting but not as detailed as yours. You might be able to exchange tips with each other.

You can always try these wire twisters. I'm sure the plier ones will work on thicker gage wire as well

Hey you three..just a reminder. You ROCK! What a great crew you've created. Some setbacks yes, but, it's part of the process. And, K awesome to have a Sewing Machine. It's a creative and some may say a Lost Art. Sadie is blessed to have such talented parents.

Hi Jordan and Kaylee, I’m a long time follower and came in a little late on the foundation digging. I’m retired from construction now, but noticed you didn’t set 2x4 battle boards at the four corners to square the footprint of the building, before digging the foundation. That would have given you a square corner reference from the groundwork all the way through the construction process. It might be still be helpful to install them now to keep the building square for the rest of the buildout. You set two opposite 2x4 corner Ls first and then the other two Ls, using the string method you use now. As the building progresses you always will have a square reference point Hope this is helpful, Richard

Forgot to say that the battle boards should be set about 2-3ft back from the corners and level across the corners. There are KZbin videos on setting battle boards.

I haven't read all the comments... Just two thoughts, get the wire ties with the loops... much less work... And just check that your concrete mix isn't to wet, The more water the weaker the strength. Oh and the purpose of the wire ties is to just hold the rebar in place, it's not necessary to tie every intersection of rebar pieces.

The way you guys deal with this set back is inspiring. It's insane how deep and large and square the holes are. But its the best to discover it now! What if the poles are up and the issue arises... You will get there and the men you have, I agree a 100% with Kailee, so much nicer to work with people that are willing to learn, do their best and love to have fun. You are giving them so much by letting them help. Amazing!!
I commend you guys, for what you are doing. There is a saying, give a fish that will take of their need for the day. But teach them how to catch a fish is something for them that will be for a lifetime. Allowing them to learn new talents will give them a skill that will be passed on to others. It is like pay it forward. Looking good. Sadie is such a cutie.

When you’re decluttering Sadie’s toys, it might work better for her if you ask her which toys she wants to give to other children, rather than which she wants to keep.

You guys are CRUSHING IT! So fun to watch. My family is doing a three month stint in Guatemala right now to avoid the MN winter :-D. Watching the part of the video where you guys are struggling to move the mixer, doesnt the Skid Steer have a hitch in the back to quickly move the mixer around?... Im sure if it did you would have thought of that, but thought id chime in just in case you didnt. Have a great one guys and keep up the fantastic work! Much love from MN (Guatemala).

I don't know but what I heard is the reason snakes of scorpions as babies are more dangerous is they have no control of their poison. When they sting or bite you get a full dose instead of a tiny amount. Just be careful. Small critters can be worse to get bitten by.
