My first great Radiohead album that I bought was the Bends and, like I said in this video, I remember buying the Planet Telex/High and Dry single before it. High and Dry is, I think, tarnished by Yorke's comments about it. But when you look into the history of the song you can kind of see why he's negative about it. Musicians often dislike early works... whereas the disassociated listener can just enjoy/not enjoy. I wonder if, like Iron Maiden, the fan's favourite album is the one he/she bought first? Hmmmm?

I am going through such a phase with Radiohead. I’m listening to exclusively them. And I listen to absolutely everything and listen to so much new music in general. The power of there music is intense and it is an emotional rollercoaster. Thom Yorke, Johnny, all of these guys have reinvented their music each album to an extent that hasn’t been done before and it’s to pure perfection. OK Computer was my favorite for a while, until I heard Kid A, and then until I heard In Rainbows which stands as my favorite. Holy crap the masterpieces of this musical art. Even though they have achieved major fame, the music is still underrated in my opinion. It’s the best of all time.

You should look up the theory about OK Computer and In Rainbows having been recorded at the same time back in the 90s... if you play them both with 10 second overlap in the order of track 1 ok computer, track 1 in rainbows, track 2 ok computer etc then they supposedly flow perfectly (it’s a huge debate)... there are people on KZbin that have already edited them this way so you don’t have to :) enjoy!
@orialtman61764 жыл бұрын
its not that they were recorded at the same time, its that the tracklist order and weird endings on In Rainbows were on purpose so that they slipped in between the tracks of OK Computer as a tenth anniversary celebration thing. There's a couple transitions that sell it for me, though I really don't like the transition between Paranoid Android and Bodysnatchers. The ding of the bell that ends OK Computer even lines up PERFECTLY with the beginning of the second cd bonus material that came with the deluxe edition of In Rainbows, the one with Down Is The New Up and Go Slowly, etc.
@nancydavismusic4 жыл бұрын
Ori Cardomay yeah that makes a lot more sense to me... it always seemed a little far fetched that they were both recorded at the same time just because they had good (or not so good lol) transition, I always figured they could just purposefully record them that way years later !
