For example, the director of "The Ice Pirates" movie from 1984 has yet to be interviewed. He too seems very bitter about the final cut from movie studio. Be so great if you could interview the surviving cast members from The Ice Pirates! I hope a FanEdit of 'The Ice Pirates" movie would be made with much narration using the surviving actors! Really great archive research you did for Design 2084. Congrats and much props!

Hello everyone! Thank you so much for your support regarding this film, it’s truly means a lot. Recently, some new developments have occurred in researching this film and I’ve managed to get in contact with some people who were involved in the production of “Design 2084.” Some of the information in this video seems a tad outdated, so a sequel/amendment video is in order. More updates will follow.

Hi there, I'm the german collector from which the the workprint made its way to...anywhere! I got the movie from the makeup artist Tim Davis who did with Diane Hammond the make-up effects and the metallic servant robot in the movie. One of the actors is Bruce Alan Rauscher a longtime friend of Tim Davis. Tim Davis died in 2015! In the Starlog magazine Cinemagic No.30 you can find an article about the make-up works of Davis and Hammond with a picture from Design 2084! Have fun with it!

I actually have a weird story of lost media of my own. So basically whenever my dad lived in Tampa in the 90's, there was this famous public access television station (don't ask which one, I honestly forgot) that once aired really bizarre shows. However the one he said he remembers the most was this animated short called New House: Mystery House, which was supposedly about this family that moves out of their old house for whatever reason. The two children in the household, an older boy and a younger sister, are obviously upset about this move. Later in the episode they found their old house overtaken by people who just moved in, and have trashed the place as well. From then on out, the sibling embark in a strange adventure. My dad's memory is hazy on the exact details of the rest of the episode. He said the quality of the short was terrible, as to be expected with public access at the time.
@iwinme42075 жыл бұрын
However this isn't the interesting part of the short. The interesting thing about it is the fact that the short only aired twice, but in two completely different versions. Both versions follow the same in narrative, but the tones of each of them are completely different according to my dad. He says that while the first airing was innocent and innoffensive, the second airing was considerably darker and grim. He never explained the differences between both of them though. I don't know if I should take him seriously, as I can't find anything about this short, or even the station it's from. It's possible he's either intentionally fucking around with me, or is simply misremembering something of this sort happening 20 or more years ago. I don't know what to believe.

@Joel Santoyo Torres he never gave specifics, which makes me believe he's full of shit

I'm kinda confused as to how it got from the creators to the german collector unless the creators gave it to the collector which only leaves me with more questions

Both me and the creators have no idea how the rough cut got out there. We have a theory, but we don’t know for certain.

@@Smyth_Films did they ever ask members of the team or screen testers/the people they were pitching to?

I’ve never really done proper narration for a video like this before (and the fact that I had to re-record a lot of the dialogue during editing doesn’t help either.) Next time I narrate something, I’ll try and go at a more slower pace. Thank you for watching!
