It's one of those things that most people believe that the choice is easy but in reality it's difficult & most of us wouldn't know what to do until we are faced with such a choice.

Agree! Definitely one of those things that you can’t know until you actually experience it. Hopefully we don’t though!

So, "supposedly undermined Anderson's Spectre test". He did to be fair, but most Mass Effect fans never read the prequel novel so I don't blame people for being skeptical about a story you only hear 1 side of. But Anderson accurately portrays what happened in a broad sense. As for the thrust of it. Saren is basically Anti-Shepard. They are both the best of the best. Saren's conclusion of "resistance is futile" is logical and understandable, but he lacks the context to know that the bargain is a Monkey's Paw that the Reapers have no intention of following. He is juuust indoctrinated enough to not question the obvious signs in front of him, like knowing and admitting the Geth will be disposed of afterwards and not questioning why organics would be any different. Saren is convinced the Protheans just stubbornly resisted to the bitter end out of pride. Shepard knows better because he finds Vigil and gets the last bit of information Saren never got. That is why at the end, even after the implants you can convince him. "Just step aside, and this all ends right now. I input the code and it never happens." This is a logical argument, a Deal is not required if they can't ever get here to begin with afterall. Saren is convinced by this, but is no longer capable of making his own choices due to his lack of knowledge up to that point.

Yeah I don’t doubt Anderson I meant that as a joke lol. Definitely agree with everything you said though! Thanks for providing more context.

"Fallout". The other game that allowed you to talk the final boss into suicide is "Fallout". There are some more, but "Fallout" is the first and the oldest that came to my mind.
