There are many of them situated around the area Paul, and it can't have been pleasant sitting in them for hours on end, waiting for the invasion that never happened....The structure on the beach I now believe was part of the Coastal defences ... Thanks as always....Bob

Excellent video again, Bob. The anti-invasion defences formerly at the other end of the beach literally comprised of rails (from railways) placed vertically at regular inervals in the sand. They were removed in the early 2000s when the RAF used the beach to practice the landing of Hercules transporter planes on sand during the time of the 2nd Iraq war. One such instance was shown on Top Gear when Jeremy Clarkson drove down the loading ramp and onto the beach in a Jaguar. The structure in your video looks like the remains of a jetty, especially given its close proximity to Pembrey harbour.
@robmasterman11 жыл бұрын
Thank you John, the rail defences were the West end of Cefn Sidan Beach, down where the RAF Range is situated, this structure is on the far Eastern end of the Beach, and too far out to be a jetty from Pembrey Harbour...More likely to be part of the sea defence structures, of which there are many along this stretch of coast...Bob

Excellent, beautiful, mysterious, well made. I would hazard a guess that the scaffolding structure is related to wartime activity such as defences.

Wonderful view of the wide open sands. Do look rather like the kind of anti invasion defences you find in Normandy, but probably the structure of a jetty I expect. Your friends at 5:50 are beautiful, lovely glossy coats.
@robmasterman11 жыл бұрын
Thanks Andrei, it's a little too far away from the mainland to be a fishing jetty, I'm more inclined towards a Sea defence structure. Those two beauties are Welsh Blacks....beautiful meat, and these will be slightly salty from the grazing along the coast....Bob

Hi Bob...We just watched this three times on our big screen tv, magnificent footage, of all of your non train videos of the last weeks is this by far my favourite video. The shots at 1:07 is like from one tv screen to the other, brilliant. Not to mention the rest! The sands, the sea, the skies and many more detail shots are of excellent videography. This is the stuff that i like to see. A joy to watch! Regards...John

Very fitting music Bob it certainly goes with the mood of the video , your home made windjammer is working very good ...not sure about that framework ..as has been suggested could it have been some sort of pier or is is a boat framework ..nice video .. sure could loose ones self out there .....Dave
@robmasterman11 жыл бұрын
Thanks Dave, suitable music tracks hopefully adds to the viewing experience....This structure is fascinating, and it will be interesting to establish exactly what it is, before it disappears below the sand again...Bob

Robert Masterman I shall rely on you to come up with the answer Bob ..got me intrigued now ..Dave
@robmasterman11 жыл бұрын
***** The most common reply so far Dave, is that it was a WW2 Sea defence structure, a local man was given the task of removing it many years ago, and it looks as this was missed as it was submerged until now...Bob

Very, very nice video, Bob! I was thinking that was more like a pier for fishermen to go out a way to do their labor of love. Very nice Beach there. :o)

As ever, we see a craftsman at work here. Beautiful compositions and creative camera work Bob. I'm guessing the crash zoom at 4:21 is not really meant to be there... I've been trying to find an answer to the mixing original sound with KZbin music issue. Alas, I can't figure it out - and a Google search doesn't help. It is a shame as I would so like to hear some of the crashing waves on here. I'm sure your windjammer was indeed working well - difficult to say though, as all the original sound has been lost! I have found a way round this but it relies on being able to record whatever you hear via the computer ('what you hear'). You need to play the chosen KZbin music onto say Audacity. Export this to the desktop as a .wav file. Then it can be taken into your editing program. Good luck!
@robmasterman11 жыл бұрын
All this footage is hand held, and you're quite right that zoom out should not have been left in..it wasn't until it had completed processing, that I noticed it. Unfortunately, as far as I'm aware you cannot record or copy the Audio Soundtracks in KZbin as separate items, otherwise it would make life much simpler to process an audio file. It's strange, as they give the option to balance between the original audio and the music track, which has worked perfectly in the past, but at the moment, no matter what setting you use, it's all music. Thanks for taking the time to research on my behalf...Best wishes...Bob

Interesting video again Bob, those sands are absolutely beautiful. Has the scaffolding been exposed as a result of the storms? I wonder if it was some kind of wartime fortification, definitely doesn't look like the remains of a ship to my untrained eye.

Thanks Austin, a walk along the several miles of golden Sands is absolutely wonderful, with the fresh winds off the Atlantic, it certainly clears the mind....As for the structure, I think the Coastal defence suggestion stands out as the most likely...Bob

Sorry if this is duplicated. I don't seem able to reply to an existing comment. About mixing music and ambient sounds. There is another way, avoiding that duff KZbin control. This seems to work: Go to kzbin.info Use the menu at the top of the page to browse tracks by genre, duration and more.When you’ve found a track that you like, download it by clicking the arrow. It will go into your downloads folder. From there just import into your editing program.

Robert, I remember seeing that structure back in the early 80's, it was a lot further above sand level back then. I always thought it was a landing craft blockade from WW2, but a friend who worked at the range observation tower in the late 80's told me it was the frame to a fishing net structure - I couldn't see the logic in that, so I'm still convinced its a defensive structure. Can you get a GPS for that location?
@TheRadarOReilly11 жыл бұрын
I'm even more confused now. Some scenes place it near the old Pembrey Harbour, but the structure I was thinking of was near the range tower.
@robmasterman11 жыл бұрын
TheRadarOReilly GPS is too technical for me, it's location was immediately South of Pembrey Harbour off the very Eastern end of Cefn Sidan Beach....so a long way from the Range.....Bob
