God is someone who is up there While bagwan can be used to anyone who rises to high consciousness level and realized himself like Buddh bagwan, etc or it used in hindu context when bagwan vishnu take birth on the earth in different forms. God is western concept. In india highest form is known as 'prbrhaman'. Bagwan can never be equal to 'the god'. Like energy can never be equal to shakti Shakti =energy +intelligence of its own. There are many sanskrit and even hindi words which are no translatable! You can't convert them directly to English.
