How did I let this go beyond my radar for two years? Lol. There are so many great guests on your podcast lately Rich. First Goggins, then Dr Zach, then Shane Parrish...I'm blown away with the talent you have introduced into my life. (Still trying to find a hard copy of Shane's Module 1)...and now Michael Gervais! This guy talks about the subtleties that lay in the deep corners of my mind that I know and recognize, but are just on the fringes enough that I've never looked them directly in the eye. Fundamentals are key, and Michael is full of em. Rich...Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Challenges, I am rewiring my brain to be able to operate from the positive, I was very successful in my career but I was motivated through fear, and needing acceptance and approval. I was surviving, now I am working to reverse the conditioning to be able to be successful through my own self esteem, confidence and self approval.

I'm only 20 minutes in, and at this time of writing, I cannot believe this video has under 20k views and less than 400 thumbs up. Rich, you've been a breath of fresh air in the podcast game for me. You truly deserve much more and I hope you reach the heights of rogan, ferriss and gang someday soon. You're a rare breed of been there, done that who genuinely wants to discuss honest ideas without an ulterior agenda. Keep up the conversations and I wish you the best from India. Cheers!

Hate to lose vs love to win: My answer is that I just want to be in the battle, in the mix of things and involved in the contest at all. I’m running my first 50k ultra in 8 weeks and I just am excited to be a part of it. “Losing” would be not running because I chose not to/didn’t train/quit.

Fabulous conversation! Our family philosophy is "have fun and don't be a jerk." To word it more effusively would be something like: live consciously -- engage in the moment through movement, time in nature, and meaningful relationships, but take care not to impede others' self-fulfillment or journey while having your fun. But yeah, I could definitely spit out "HAVE FUN AND DON'T BE A JERK!" in a dark alley while under duress :)

WOW. Great convo. Micheal couldn't have said it better..Rich, you are consistently putting yourself out there (and revealing your own "flaws") to help us feel better about our own imperfections. And that (as Micheal puts it) "free space" where we feel less guilty about those short comings. Allows us the oppertunity to feel capable of greatness, despite our internal feelings of doubt and insignificance. Amazing stuff as always. Please keep doing what you do__Can't wait to put the Philosophy assignment to work!!

Hey Rich, Great work again. This is the next level stuff I have been waiting for. I'm privileged to have been on an incredible journey navigated in part by you and those you have on your podcast for the past 17 months. Can you help me bring to the surface my philosophy, which I know is growing inside me, and start me down this richer path. I look forward to the fruition of the things talked about in this podcast. My family wouldn't be in the positive space we are in with out you and Julie. Thank you

Great job guys - thoroughly enjoyed this. Really liked the more in-depth back and forth conversation. You both are doing amazing work and I'm thankful a get to participate from afar. Michael - love to win or hate to loose. What does it tell you about the 5% that answer love to win. Curious - this was my choice although Rich had the perfect answer as usual. Thanks again and please keep them coming - you're making a bigger difference that you'll both ever imagine.

Isn't "I should have done X" honesty? I know I should have done something but I didn't do it. It could highlight a lack of self-discipline, maybe the issue is not letting it go, not trusting yourself that you'll get it done. When I lose the discipline then I get pulled in every direction, every little impression affects me. I get lost in things that don't really matter and I lose structure. I still have goals I'm working on but not a meaningful day-day life in the sense of something that gets my absolute attention. How do you find something to focus on that you really find meaningful, that gets you up in the morning?

I wonder if I can relate to what drives Olympic gold medalist. Even thou this is relatable and I can use a ton, I have dillemas and attitudes to work they overcame long time ago. Just different part of the journey. Which buggies me if I can find a way to change the basics, which often in personal development are assumed.

Equanimity (Latin: æquanimitas, having an even mind; aequus even; animus mind/soul) is a state of psychological stability and composure which is undisturbed by experience of or exposure to emotions, pain, or other phenomena that may cause others to lose the balance of their mind. The virtue and value of equanimity is extolled and advocated by a number of major religions and ancient philosophies. Look up equanimity in Wiktionary, the free dictionary.

I used to be an avid Michael Gervais Finding Mastery podcast listener. I am so disappointed that Michael continues to push the SJW agenda on his podcast. If your ashamed to be a white, heterosexual, man who feels a deep need to apologize wherever you can, this podcast is for you. I'll look elsewhere for my daily podcast.
