That was brilliant! A church with a north aisle and a north, north aisle! What an extraordinary hotch-potch of additions on to a delightful Saxon building. You two certainly brought it to life and that was before you brought out the cue-cards!

Hi Richard Last time I looked, Linchmere (or Lynchmere) and particularly St Peter's Church, were just about in West Sussex...fascinating place...went past many years ago when we were looking at a school bus route, (and subsequently when we got it), but never went in...looks like it might deserve a bit more time...in all honesty, was it not a tiny bit creepy in there...it certainly looked a bit "atmospheric"... I always check Jenkins’ Best Churches after I watch. Not for the 1st time, I wondered ‘Now how did he miss this one?” Perhaps if the carvings had been English? He gave 3 stars to Shoreham St Mary, though!

The outside of the church reminded me of the church used in the movie, The Wedding Date, so I looked it up. The church from the movie is St. James Church, Shere, Surrey. Must be nearby, perhaps built by the same person? I wouldn't mind a tour of that one too, it was a popular movie, might get a lot of views. 🙂

Not a big parish, but lots of farms, so they must have made up the congregation.
