I'm glad to see you didn't get hammered to bad. That was a lot more damage than I thought there was.

I am very glad to see that you are safe with only some property damage. We also went through the storm and the days without electric power. Backyard generators helped some for refrigeration, lights, fans and WiFi. As I suspected, my internet supplier has their own generators and all we had to do was supply local power to our WiFi box. Having a battery and an inverter for the WiFi really helped before I was able to start the small generator. Advance planning for a day without power for air conditioning was a mistake. One of our neighbors, with many contractors in the family, brought in a job site generator and connected it to their air conditioner circuit. They didn't even open their windows for days. With our open windows we could hear it all night.

After the 1st 12 hours without power i fired up our generator to run our freezer, fridge, tv and 1 lamp. It was quiet enough it couldn't be heard outside our yard. I was surprised how quiet the neighborhood was compared to Harvey when the Drone of generators was constant. When i went to the cabin i chose to not run the gen i brought with me as to not burden my neighbors with the noise as we all had our windows open to sleep in the 90 dgr heat. Watching everyone come together to clear downed trees and debris was inspiring. Glad it all worked out for you too.

DAY-UM Ziggy! My heart goes out to you and all your friends and neighbors. Your footage here gives me flashbacks to 2004 when we had Charlie, Frances and Jeanne all pay us a visit in central Florida. Nope, no bastards going sailing in this one!

Ziggy - I agree with Will Robertson, schedule a boat dock building party. I will book my flight and come down too. It'll be fun! Lets do it.

Sounds like there needs to be a boat dock building party. Glad you guys came out of that without very much damage. Town looked like a disaster.

The neighborhood is buzzing in Houston. Last week it was tree ppl dealing with the downed trees and this week the fence ppl replacing the privacy fences.

The boat came out unscathed. With all the big post oak trees over the yard I was worried.
