The seraphic patriarch Saint Francis was not like Buddha he firmly taught that Christ is the only way to Salvation as Jesus himself said John 14:6 Saint Francis of Assisi had a mutual respect between Christianity and Islam not because he viewed Islam as a true Faith or a way to Salvation it was because Saint Francis care for peace and conversion and that comes from action along with words he was bearing good witness as a poor Franciscan not supporting heretical ecumenism
