In the middle of the Pacific Ocean, around 1000 km to the west of South America, there is a group of volcanic islands. The Galapagos Archipelago. The islands are considered the cradle of evolution. Nowhere else you could find such a rare variety of animals, including diving iguanas, giant tortoises with snake-like necks, and albatrosses which you normally expect on the open ocean.

I love these documentaries. I learn about places and animals that I'll probably never see. They are also relaxing.

@jimg6261 Oh, how much I would love that. However, a hiking trip + fall down 25 ft rock face, left me career less and partly disabled (I say partly because I'm so stubborn). I barely enjoy doing things close to home. So, I now live through the lens of others. Life got cut short at very young age.

sorry to hear about your accident and the limits that placed on your abilities, but never lose hope. You may not be able to see and experience all of the interesting places or in the the same way as those with different abilities but such adventure may still be available for you in person in some way, with some luck, help and creativity. I've guided wheel chair-bound folks to the Boundary Waters Wilderness in northern Minnesota and while it was certainly a more limited type of trip than with those that are fully-abled, my clients still were able to have the experience and enjoy it in their own way. @@TessA-es3if

Interesting birds life in these islands. In fact, I liked everything I saw. As in human life, there are predators who steal and allies who help you. 💙💙💙

So sad someone eating food in their car goes viral and gets 20,000,000 views and these educational videos don't get anything.

Not sure as the original uses an American actor, but it sounds like Patrick Aryee a BBC wildlife presenter.

Here we have the naked absurdity of evolution on full display: we're told that a lizard or two floated all the way to a Galapagos island where there was nothing for it to eat. Somehow, before they/it starved to death, they adapted to being underwater grazers. So was the evolution instantaneous or can iguanas not eat for millions of years?

There wasnt nothing to eat but in order to thrive they had to fill a niche pls do research on something before ranting about it.. still a cool documentary just enjoy it man

You're not "Told" anything.......these are educated guesses and theories based on the habits of similar well known species as to how they got there and what they ate, you are simply provided with information and data to use common sense and experience of observing other species by trained naturalists and zoologists to come up with the most plausable way they ended up here, nobody is told anything, you are given information from experience....evolution is far from absurd, it's observable fact. Beliving in a deity that made the Earth for humans about 5,000 years ago is naked absurdity on full display, not evolution. Even if I dumped you a human on these same islands with nothing to eat on the land you would become a grazer of anything underwater too when starvation pushed you to survive however possible

He didn’t say the Earth was 5000 years old, he asked about Iguanas “evolution”. Did they bring a packed lunch with them before they “evolved” to swim? Also, even though they did adapt a bit, they are still iguanas, nothing else.

What a ridiculous comment. Try thinking before you make such outrageous comments & ask such dumb questions. Evolution takes millions of years & many modifications of a life form. Your comment is the ranting of a very simple mind.
