Japan couldn't replace the pilots lost in this battle and this showed later.

After all the fighting and killing, it was the lack of food which drove the Japanese from Guadalcanal. Ground forces could have been saved if only the top brass could think past their training. The total dead or missing were 41,592 for all U.S. Army ground troops in the Pacific and southeast Asia, with another 145,706 wounded. The Marine Corps and attached Navy corpsmen suffered total casualties of 23,160 killed or missing and 67,199 wounded. 90% of them were wasted for no good purpose. ..

The Japanese never caught on that the USA had thoroughly broken their various naval, air force and army cyphers. Throughout the war, we knew what their plans were and used that to destroy them.

Breaking the codes was only auxiliary to their own transmissions and lack there of.

We had not broken all their codes. We could read a limited amount of transmissions and then from them try to deduce what their plans were. Classic case onbb b point was Midway - we had to fake a water problem there to get the Japs to confirm their intentions to invade there.

I’m not sure throughly is the correct word. Station Hypo had a good guess and some excellent people that could connect seemingly random dots.

The Title of this videos seems to portray that the USA is the underdog. In reality, Japan is the underdog

Perhaps, but Japan was the aggressor. Japan picked the place, time, and date the War began. Japan had the initiative. They occupied the Solomons. Japan had more warships than the USN in the Pacific. So, how were the Japanese underdogs in the Battle of Guadalcanal?
@Zerox_Prime
@Zerox_Prime 2 ай бұрын
Further, the USN had faulty, unreliable torpedoes and turtle-slow torpedo bombers whereas the Japanese had fast, powerful, potent torpedoes mounted on Japanese Destroyers and Cruisers. Their torpedoes left no bubble trail. They were fast and had long-range - hence the name, "Long-Lance" torpedoes. Perhaps, AFTER suffering attrition of Japanese ships, planes, and flight crews, as well as elite troops - they were underdogs.
