Yours will turn out fine Renee just trim where your joins are going to be as close to the stitch line as you can. If you find joining hard, stitch the join zigagging so that it gives you a placement line then place your previous segment piece in place so that the edge sits within the zigzag line, pin it and tape it in place (keep your pins away from the stitch line) and stitch the join colour again to secure it in place, then you have fool proof joins. Happy stitchin.
