I will say this while being the first to comment. Derek, you are on your way to becoming a legend in your own right. As a matter of fact, in my mind you already are. Ever since I discovered you by watching your videos on KZbin a year in a half ago, You have inspired me everyday since. Keep up the great work, continue to inspire many more generations to come, and I am so proud to call you my friend. YOU ROCK!!!!! - Sam Levine

It’s really a miracle that being a premie didn’t affect his small motor abilities . My son was a 23 week premie, and although he can sing and whistle perfectly in tune, he has very low tone in his fingers. I was a piano teacher, and when I tried to teach him, his fingers would just collapse, and he couldn’t play.

Astonishing. Absolutely astonishing. I've seen many videos of Derek playing, but sadly a lot of them have been a bit... forced, contrived, in the way he's been presented, but this was far more intimate, and seeing him with the band and then with Joolz was a huge bonus.

Hello Derek (and friends) I recently saw a documentary on you and was extremely amazed with your musical gift and endearing personality. After watching it I spent a couple of hours searching for more footage of you playing and different tellings of your story. I see that you sometimes take requests online.
