Holy CRAP! I am blown away. I've been looking at all options as a singer/songwriter with minimal setup. I've been looking into the EV 50m and the Bose L1 Pro16/32. But I wanted to also be able to setup a band. Your example was able to mirror exactly what I wanted. Thanks man. Kick ass licks on that guit too.

Great demo/review Jay. Sounded great! My band did our first gig with the Pro32 Sub 1 systems as well, and LOVED it! Didn't think the L1M2 setup could be improved upon, but they did.
@tommarks83243 жыл бұрын
Can I ask what instruments and number of vocals you put through the systems? And what mixer? I’m currently putting 1 guitar amp micd, 1 guitar through Helix direct, 1 synth, 1 bass direct to mixer no amp, kick mic and some drum mic system with 3 vocal mics through a mackie dl32r to 2 L1 Model2 with 1 B2 each. We love it but thinking about upgrading with the L1s getting pretty old. Sounds like you like the pro even more but just wondering what kind of band/music.

@@tommarks8324 Hi Tom. We run everything through the Bose T8S mixer, which is connected digitally to (and powered by) one of the towers via the ToneMatch cable. I then run a line out of that tower into the other tower. We have 3 vocals. My guitarist runs through a Helix, connected to the mixer. My bass is plugged direct to the mixer, and using the Lakland w/Bartolini ToneMatch setting. We play rock, dance and country.

@@aaronnemiroff3169 hello Aaron, I'm thinking about the same system you're running for my band. We have three vocals, two guitars, bass, kick drum and keyboard. My bass player would always bring an amp. The traditional system I use with two tops, two subs and three monitors takes over 2 hours to set up and it's hard to mix sound while playing. Just wondering if you're happy with the Bose system because it's a huge investment. If you're using two towers and Bose 8 channel mixer that's around $7,000. I'm wondering if you're still using it and if you're happy with it. Thanks
@aaronnemiroff31692 жыл бұрын
@@FLdb-wj4wc Hi there. Yes, still using the Bose systems, and very happy with them. With the way they break down into pieces, I can fit both full systems and cable bags, etc all on my rock'n'roller cart to load in on one trip. Although I prefer to go earlier and take my time, I have loaded in, set up and been ready to go in under 40 minutes when it was necessary. While I agree it is a huge investment, you get what you pay for. The lighter weight, quicker setup, and (most importantly) higher quality sound make it well worth it for me. We still get compliments on the band's sound, as well as the occasional looks of astonishment that all that sound is coming from the thin towers.

Tim I've been a bit of a Bose consumer for years and as a frequent buyer I know the stress of putting down large sums of cash to buy the "latest and greatest Bose". I have just about every popular Bose speaker that they make (from the S1 PRO, F1's, L1 Model 2's w/ B1 and B2's and now the L1 Pro 32 w/ Sub 2. They've all served me well in various situations and wouldn't trade them back for any QSC, JBL etc that I've ever owned. As a "one man band" I've honestly gone back to using the L1 Model 2's with the B2 the last couple of weeks over the Pro 32. The Pro 32 w/ Sub 2 is just "missing" something as a solo artist (I play acoustic guitar with a kick drum and snare stomp pedal" so I definitely need and enjoy hearing a robust low end. I would say the new system with the Sub 2 sounds "harsh" to me. Almost like the Sub 2 doesn't match well with the tower. If I turn the Sub volume either way other than "12 O'Clock" it doesn't sound right.. (with tons of eq'ing from my tonematch as well) It sounds as if I'm losing much needed frequencies in the vocals or guitar or adding too much low end and rumble if i turn the sub up. It's just "Missing" some frequencies that I've been accustomed to hearing and getting easily with the Model 2's/B2's. (I've used Bose exclusively for the last 10 years so I'm very familiar with them) The L1 Model 2's just have a "warmer" sound to me (I'm running them through a Tonematch TS4 or TS8 depending on the gig). I've set up both together A/B'ing them and tweaking the EQ on both of the systems' settings for hours. I've deep dived into this issue and have heard that the Sub 1 (for the type of music I play) is a better fit than the bigger Sub 2 and rounds out the sound better. I will be ordering the Sub 1 tonight to test this out. If you're a DJ than I can attest that YES the L1 Pro 32 w/ Sub 2 will outperform the L1 Model 2's in any DJ setting (louder, more low end, throws sound farther.) They look super slick and the Sub 2 has a great build quality. When I opened the Pro 32 tower I was taken aback by how "cheap" the tower felt. Plastic casing and it felt way too light. The base also feels cheap compare to the heavier L1 Model 2 base. Almost feels like the tower could tip over easily. The L1 Model 2 tower feel like such a better build quality and weight. The new subs outperform the B2's without question but I like the old L1 towers better (I'll have a Final analysis when I pair the Pro 32 tower with the Sub 1) Long story short. You shouldn't feel like the Pro 32's are way superior to your current L1's. If your main gig is DJ'ing I would "upgrade" at least to the Sub 2 and keep the L1 Model 2 towers. You can run the old L1's with the new subs. Long comment but I'm super passionate about sound and know the monetary commitment of owning Bose systems. Best of luck!!

@@TravisRocco hi! Have you had a chance to try out a sub 1 yet with your Pro 32 yet ? If so, how did it go? Thanks
@TravisRocco3 жыл бұрын
@@daveelder4792 Yes Dave I've used it at 3 shows so far and the Sub1 was a BIG WIN! It sounds better paired with the Pro 32 tower than the Sub2 does for my purposes. Acoustic music (with a Kick and Snare stomp pad, acoustic guitar and vocals.) The "missing frequencies" that I had been experiencing for some time have now "returned." It put an immediate smile on my face from the very first performance. It has a small footprint but it's big on bass (smaller but Better sounding than the B2). It makes the Pro 32 set up sound better than the L1 Model II's for sure. I'm Super happy that I spent the money to get the Sub1 and test that theory. Not sure if I'll keep the Sub2 for a back up or if I'll sell it. (Don't see myself using it) Sidenote: I also purchased an Auralex GreatGramma V2 Isolation Pad to place the Sub on. Makes an audible difference for sure as it separates it from the ground and eliminates rumble etc. Great addition for an extra $100 at Sweetwater.

Just set it up on the weekend: Pro32 with Sub2. Very powerful and loud. Filled the room just fine. Now you only need one, so placement of the speaker is a little awkward… ideally should be center of the stage. Bass was great. There is a hiss once you get loud and no inputs are on. The noise floor is audible at louder volume, but still investigating that. Either way: in terms of power / volume…. No issue. We were hitting 95db at the tower with the volume set to 10 o’clock.

My favorite is F1 and then F2 when I come out. L 8 16 32 systems are not systems that I identify with. I like tops with at least a 12 inch speaker to give that real fat sound. L-systems are good systems but for those who want to save space in transport although the F1 don't take up much space. Towers with mini loudspeakers as tops don't convince me at all. For now the 4 f1 systems I have are my boys, when their replacements come out then I'll change it assuming there will be improvements, otherwise I'll be fine as I am.
