I can pay this no higher compliment than saying this is a painter's painter at work. Courageous stuff - ignoring the picturesque and going for the whole. Well done.

I relate to this completely, and this is the first time I've heard another artist say it. Except for "it's never finished, never perfect." I feel it when it's finished, and "perfection" just comes from the painting giving me joy.

Thanks for such an interesting peek into not just your studio, but into your painting process. You are the 4th artist that I have actually seen paint (grateful for KZbin!) I, too, feel inspired by the abstract forms in nature - wonderful to hear another person talk with such passion. Also, thanks for the warning about those "highs" and lows that are part of the journey. (Toronto ☮)

I enjoyed looking at your work in progress, It made me feel cheerful and good about my own work. I live and work in Cornwall in England and I go to my studio every day. My work is very different from the paintings I did in London. I am reacting to my new surroundings which at times are overwhelming , and I am finding the language I need to use.

As soon as I saw the opening shot I thought to myself "the landscape w/ the patches of snow and big sky look familiar", that's because I live in New Mexico and used to spend time in Durango, Wolf Creek, and Pogosa Springs. Still need to visit Chaco Canyon. Talk about Canyon and visit I looked up the Tansey Contemporary Gallery on Canyon road where it says you show your work. If you still show there I will get to see your work in person next time I'm in Santa Fe. I also took the time to look on Google images and your body of work is very impressive. I feel like I'm looking at jazz or a stream your style is so free flowing and fluid, very refreshing and inspiring. Thanks for the enjoyable video and awesome paintings, I look forward to seeing them one day soon. Peace be with you.

Being an artist I believe she is using real piece of charcoal to draw those initial lines. On top of it she is using a mixing medium; a matte or gloss acrylic medium. I often use this trick with pastel and gloss mixing medium to finish my paintings!
@luciedurand38837 жыл бұрын
I am not sure about the charcoal as when she applies the mixing medium, the lines don’t run that much as with charcoal it would and does... The paintbrush becomes black when I apply my mixing medium over charcoal and I have to wipe my paintbrush clean before going back in the jar for more mixing medium... and she doesn’t seem to have to clean her brush. If you know of a kind of charcoal that doesn’t run that much, please share
@AsiyaBajwa7 жыл бұрын
Lucie Durand sorry in her second last video on her channel she replied to a comment saying that she uses Stabile crayon and work over with gel medium. I never put my brush in mixing medium bottle. I either directly put it on canvas if the bottles has nozzle, otherwise I take small quantity out in a container and use soft and hard color pastels for final touches on acrylic. My brush does catch a little pigment but it gives me same effect. Because she is using only black I thought it was charcoal.
