ADAM Audio was founded in March 1999 in Berlin. Since then the company has been developing, manufacturing and distributing loudspeakers in the field of Professional Audio.
The development of the X-ART (eXtended Accelerating Ribbon Technology) tweeter based on the 1960’s invention of the Air Motion Transformer by Oskar Heil was largely responsible for the company’s founding. Producing sound not with a piston-like diaphragm as is done in most of the loudspeakers that are on the market, but using a pleated diaphragm that is capable of moving the air 4 times faster than the folds themselves are moving was the appealing idea behind it all. The achieved results were intriguing and gave ample reason for moving forward.

Great video! Nic's studio looks exactly like mine... NOT! LOL! I bought a pair of the A7V for my computer/nearfield audio system. I'm hearing so much more detail from my music and games compared to my previous passive speaker setups. The A7V is the best audio purchase I've made in over 10 years.

Were there any special considerations to get the LCR midfields and the surround and height nearfields to sit nicely together?

Hi Max! There are several important considerations to ensure they work together harmoniously: 1. Speaker Matching: It's ideal to use studio monitors from the same manufacturer and series to ensure tonal consistency across all channels. If that's not possible, try to match the speakers as closely as possible in terms of size, sensitivity, and frequency response. 2.Positioning and Alignment:LCR (Midfield) Monitors: These monitors should be placed at equal distances from your listening position, forming an equilateral triangle. The center monitor should be positioned at the same height as the left and right speakers, preferably horizontally aligned. Surround/Height (Nearfield) Monitors: These monitors should be positioned to the sides and above or behind your listening position. They should also be aimed toward your ears and positioned at an appropriate height for their respective channels. 3. Acoustic Treatment: Treat your room acoustically to minimize reflections and standing waves. This is crucial for ensuring that the sound from all speakers integrates well and reaches your ears accurately. 4.Calibration: Use a room calibration tool or software to measure and adjust the response of each speaker. This helps to achieve a balanced and cohesive soundstage across all channels. Some room calibration systems can also optimize the time delay (phase) between speakers. 5.Speaker Angles: Ensure that the angles at which the surround and height nearfield monitors are positioned relative to your listening position match the requirements of your chosen audio format (e.g., Dolby Atmos, DTS:X). These angles can vary depending on the format and room layout. 6.Cabling and Connections: Use high-quality cables to connect your studio monitors to your audio interface. Make sure that the connections are secure and free from interference. 7.Testing and Calibration Software: Invest in audio measurement tools and software to fine-tune your setup. This includes using an SPL (Sound Pressure Level) meter and software like room correction systems to optimize speaker placement and frequency response. 8.Content Playback: Use audio content that is specifically mixed for the surround sound format you've chosen (e.g., 5.1, 7.1, Dolby Atmos). Ensure that your playback system and source equipment support the chosen format. 9.Listening Tests: Regularly perform listening tests to ensure that the integration of all speakers is smooth, and the soundstage is coherent.
