In addition, as a nation, we are more than willing to fund DAs, Police, prisons, etc, but reluctant at best to fund our offices so we can be appropriately staffed, paid, and have experts available. I think most folks would be shocked at how many cases we get where the defendant is actually not guilty. Unlike we are taught, folks aren't innocent until proven guilty. They're arrested and assumed guilty for that very moment.
