Firewatch is one of my favorite games and this game looked SO incredible, why did they sell their soul to Valve? :(

Oh wow! I had completely forgotten about this trailer! Shame they didn't finish it (yet). But I also had to think of Call of the Sea instantly. I played that a couple weeks back and that really scratched that Firewatch itch. Maybe Valve will let them work on it, eventually. Even though I would imagine, it's gonna get new looks

I was so disappointed they abandoned this project! Firewatch was unparalleled at what it did and I can't say there's another game like it out there...if anyone watching this is looking to get lost in a story driven adventure after completing Firewatch, here are some of my top recommendations (I'm not a huge puzzle fan, but love narrative adventures). The Forgotten City, What Remains of Edith Finch, Return of the Obra Dinn, Outer Wilds. Kona is a sleeper that I loved as well :) Anyways, thanks for the video, and here's hoping that this project can somehow see the light of day someday

This one kinda bums me out, being honest I have some misgivings about the studio over some stuff one of the co founders did, but even if I wouldn't have gotten it I'm sure it would do really well with how beautiful it looks, the setting it has and the fairly promising story. I hope eventually the game does come out and does as well as firewatch

@@blinchik3549 Without getting super into it, one of the leads wanted to force pewdiepie to take his firewatch lets play off of youtube after the whole bridge incident. I can fully understand really disliking pewdiepie after that, but wanting to be able to take videos down just because you don't like somebody feels like an abuse of the copyright system and sets a bad precedent. So there's nothing massive to be against the studio for, just something one dude did that I was never able to overlook

I bet the devs switched to other projects due to the way compensation works in Valve - multiple sources reported there's a perceived pressure to work on shippable stuff to get your bonus and salary (which can also go down one year!)
