Once upon a time, back in our prime
You dressed so fine, went out to dine, didn't you?
People call, say “let’s go doll -- out to the mall”
You never thought they’d all be … kidding you.
You used to have no doubt
That you’d always be free to go out
Now you know it’s not allowed
Now you can’t be part of a crowd
You’re in a grocery drought … for your next meal.
How does it feel, how does it feel?
To be at your home
Like a complete unknown, in the virus zone.
Ahh you've gone to the coolest pubs, was never
Lonely with friends you’d only just intro … duced-to-it
Nobody's ever taught you how to spend weeks at home
And now you’re gonna have to get … used to it
You say you never compromise
About your social life, but now you realize
It’s as though you’re being penalized
Running low on household supplies
And say: will I ever again share a small plate of smoked eel?
How does it feel, how does it feel?
To be on your own, with no distractions at home,
A complete unknown, in the virus zone.
Ahh you need a sleep pill like so many people
Used to be drinking, thinking that you … had it made
Living high, like a social butterfly
You better take time, consider that you just might … be afraid
Once you were so amused
Never thought you’d ever, ever be confused
Now even simple pleasures, things you’d choose
Can’t do no more, you’re feelin’ big-time blues
Six feet from nowhere is your life, and ain’t it surreal?
How does it feel, ah how does it feel?
To be on your own, with no distractions at home,
Like a complete unknown, in the virus zone.
