6:56 I think an oscillating multi tool might be just the thing to cut that plastic. I'd pilot the holes in the corner to keep the plastic from cracking any further as well. But hind sight is always 20/20 and we learn to do it better next time.

Love it. I so enjoy making little gadget props like this for mods. If I were to do it slightly differently, I would have simply mounted the plug on the outside the keypad box (mostly to discourage players from constantly trying to take things apart) and I would have just used a single LED to represent power to the box. If you're feeling particularly creative, either come up with a way to mechanically turn the LED off or on depending on the status of the door. I don't think it truly needs the presence of a GM to arbitrate as long as your players all know the rules concerning such objects.

I didn't think of that, maybe we don't want the players to try to take everything apart, like an Escape Room or something. You are right about the GM- if we can't trust the players then what is the point of LARPing? Thanks for watching!

I haven't thought of the Bioshock hacking minigame in a while. I think that could be adapted into a LARP setting using the creative application of electrical contacts.... To the workshop! Err.. Workshed!

Such a cool prop. I love it. One way to fix the marshal issue s have a tech person (as in Q from James Bond) hand out the hacking device and explain it to the user.
