Even if a single person has doubt on election process and prima faice such doubt appears unreasonable , even then it is expected from the E.C to try and resolve such apprehensions. And for doing so if that will attract substantial financial (or temporal ) burden on the nation then , such resolutions may not be employed too early, but if such exercise doesn’t attract any substantial burden then the E.C should try and employ such practices to clear every bit of doubt among the voters. And matching the entire set of vvpat slips isn’t a very time consuming task that can be achieved with in 18 hours. S.C should have accepted this demand as this seems reasonable otherwise S.C should explain us the reason why that can not be done. Further handing over the slip to the voter itself for being put into another box physically and the V pay collection box being made transparent aren’t such things which would have required substantial financial (or temporal) resources. Although what S.C has ruled out in this case is perfectly fine and is no injustice by any means but still it is not in line with the very idea of realisation of free and fair democracy.

Other than that, SC also said something important. Why you ignored that point? SC said , ECI is a constitutional body and we can not regulate them ! (As per constitution, article 329, barred any court to intervene in the electoral process once it get started) Although, after completing of election, the petition can be filed.
