If I remember right from 2015 or 2016 onwards the film The Day of Jackal was removed from free youtube streaming in India. It could be a measure taken out of an ordinary paranoia against a thriller movie that might foment trangressive activities from any quarter. I reacted to Father Stan Sami's death wholly from a humanitarian standpoint given the fact that he was an aged person with frail health. Faye, despite your very clear explanation, it is still not clear how are these people connected to Elghar Parishad or Bhima Koregaon. Many of them do not even seem to know about the event or the place. Why are they called the Bhima Koregaon accused, if the charge against them was the plot to assassinate the PM or overthrow the State? And why is NIA not coming clear with regard to the evidence? Shouldn't NIA challenge the evidence brought in by Arsenal Consulting as it has jeopardized the credibility of the Indian government and the justice system? Just saying we are a sovereign state won't do to establish the credibility of India!

What has been the Maha govt. And central govt's response to the analysis by Arsenal Consulting and conclusion that these files were hidden in the computers of the BK accused several years before the activists, lawyers and poets were actually arrested and to the fact that Arsenal claims that it is one of the most serious cases of hacking that it has ever handled? Arsenal is a firm that serves many governments around the world including India's at some time, hence its report should certainly be a part of the evidence that the 15 surviving accused can submit to the court.

Now we got the story of Elgar Parishad's celebration at Pune and the subsequent arrests. After reading the story it appears that the rural police charged case only on the dalit supporters and the right wing upper caste leaders were spared as they were enjoig full support from state and central govt. In any case the court should start trial of the accused persons and justice should be shown them so that further incident like Fr Stan Swami's death could be avoided in future.

It's a travesty of justice and the SC must order the NIA to start presenting whatever evidence it has on the 15BK accused without further delay. If not, ALL MUST BE GIVEN BAIL. Evidence of Arsenal must be taken cognisance of. Process of law must be followed to re-look into the FIRs filed against Ekbote and Bhide, despite having very strong support and ties to political parties, esp to the BJP. A lot of injustice appears to be done here.
