Ah the good 'ol poop pyramid. Most people don't put enough water in the bowl before flushing #2 in an RV, which is essential. Also, and many will scoff at this, but we don't put any TP into the black tank...not even the quick dissolve kind. We actually became familiar with this method while in rural parts of Costa Rica that didn't have very good plumbing. So not to create blockage, they wipe and then put the TP into a little lined trash can next to the toilet that has a lid. Surprisingly the trash can doesn't smell. So we adopted that method for our full-time RV living. Plenty of water for flushing, no TP in the black tank equals zero problems.

Great tips! We try to stretch our black tank as long as possible, so sometimes we probably skimp on the water when flushing 💩 We’ve actually talked to a good number of RVers that do the same as you with the TP. A little less convenient, but we’re considering making that change to avoid bigger inconveniences!

Your nature shots make me want to try disbursed camping - the videos you are making look professionally produced!! What equipment do you use? Thanks so much for sharing such great information, too!
@ThisWyldeLife3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Dispersed camping really is an amazing way to get closer to nature. For video equipment, we’re just using a GoPro Hero 9 and a Canon 70d!

We have a pizza stone in our Airstream oven. It evens out the heat also.

What size and where did you get it? That's something we've looked at because we love pizza, too!

It's a 15 inch it says Hartstone USA on the bottom. I don't remember where we got it, too long ago.

Hey guys!! I just joined your channel after randomly seeing ya in Bend in Utube. Couple things… it’s weh - nat-chee. The lake outside Leavenworth 🤣. Charming isn’t it. Ask- re: toilet and mounds best remedy, don’t flush the paper. Put it in the wastebasket, because the heat bakes stuff in your black tank😉 I want to text you. How can we connect??

Ha! Thanks for the Wenatchee pronunciation! And good tip on the TP too 👍🏽 Feel free to send an email to cameron@thiswyldelife.com Always great to connect with other RVers!

Great video guys and here is a tip - watch out for your dog!! Keep her on a leash when outdoors, I have seen and heard horror stories about wild animals grabbing them for dinner. I saw an elderly man walking his dog when an alligator came out of nowhere, grabbed his dog and ran into the water. Incredibly, this man jumped into the water and wrestled his dog out of the alligator's jaws and out of the water. She survived but was injured. On the news the other day there was a woman fighting with a hawk who was already trying to lift off with her dog. It will take a split second for any wild animal to grab her and run off.

Fortunately we don't have to worry about alligators anymore after moving out of the south. Those things are wild!

Here in the PNW (Pacific Northwest) cougars & coyotes take pets all the time. Most people would be surprised at how many of those animals are very close to you when you're out hiking, you just can't see or hear them, especially the cougars.

And they are lightning speed fast, animals don't stand a chance.
