Service return was short, hard, and low and was not directed at middle of the court, providing easy entry on the 3rd shot that resulted in weak 4th shot. Blue Engage was not established at the net to receive 3rd shot. Defending team was not able to "keep them back". Serving team got to NVZ quite easily, and achieved their objective of getting to Neutral. I believe receiving team has the advantage at 2:13. A nice forehand to forehand cross court dink from white Engage, put serving team on the defense, resulting in a neutral dink, dumped to Blue's backhand. Blue Engage on left could have been more aggressive in moving in front of his opponent, which could have allowed him to either Ernie, hit an aggressive volley dink, or hit a forehand agro dink to either player. After hitting a nice aggressive dink cross court, White Engage could have quickly positioned himself on the NVZ, and on the centerline. Instead he positioned himself off the line in a defensive posture, when in fact his team had the initiative. Both players moving more aggressively to the action could have put maximum pressure on their opponent, who was now on the defensive. At 2:17 because of his position off the line, Blue Engage dumped a neutral dink to the backhand of the player in front of him, who then hit an aggressive dink to Blue's backhand. In addition to not getting in front of his opponent, Blue Engage was also off the NVZ line. Blue did not do enough with this dink and lost the initiative, and did not get back to NVZ after his first neutral dink. Poor court positioning by Blue Engage resulted in a weak reply directly into the forehand sweet spot comfort zone of the left side player. Also at this time, White Engage was poorly positioned off the line and not in front of his opponent. Seeing an opening in the defense, left side player then attacked the middle with an aggressive dink, which might have been intercepted by White Engage player if he was in a stronger position. Instead the dink landed deep in NVZ, forcing a pop up by Blue Engage. That high dink was volleyed nicely to the left shoe of Blue's backhand side, which again resulted in a neutral dink to the forehand hitting zone of the crosscourt (left side) player. With both blue and his partner well off the line, this player again attacked the middle, causing confusion, and a loss of the point when their reply hit the tape 2:13 is where receiving team lost the initiate, and was under constant pressure until the end of the point.

The service return was to his opponents forehand and they lost the point when his partner stuck his backhand in front of his forehand.

While the return of serve could have been deeper, the returner was still standing on the baseline and hit a decent 3rd. Blue's 4th caught the returner in the transition zone but covered well enough to not give his opponents anything to attack. Both teams were doing well by moving the ball around making their opponents move their feet. After the dink down the center and seeing both move in on the blue white side, the next attempt caused a breakdown in communications which ultimately caused the error. Blue's forehand dink skill is certainly strong enough to give way to those balls down the center unless the team gets spread and doesn't close ranks back in.

Forehand covers the center

Serving team seemed to be playing with more thought placement/strategy throughout the point, moving the ball around & creating confusion for the blue & white team & keeping them on the defense.

hey In2Pickle can you do a quick video on skinny singles strategy? Without a partner covering the middle, the seam is a weak spot
