Electricity is all around us, all the time. It makes our lives easier, safer, more fun and most of us never think about it. But is there such a thing as too much electricity? Electronic devices emit an electromagnetic field, which is suspected to cause cancer. We read countless sources on this topic to summarize the results of the latest research for you.

I honestly believe that even if a study was released linking cell phones to cancer... most people would ignore it. Like a person addicted to herion or meth. The activity overrides the risk because the effects aren't immediate.
@PanJakubPuchaty

Well, it depends. If there was something around 0.001% chance that I will get cancer by using my phone then I would still use it. But if this chance was at around 10% then it's another story.

I have very mild headaches after being on my phone for too long. But this is just from my slight astigmatism in my eyes. Astigmatism is actually quite wierd, because before I had an eye test I didn't realise what I experienced wasn't (completely) normal (as even with it my vision is still 20/20), so I would just attribute it to the usage of my phone, but never really the radiation from it. Mabye something similar might be where people are getting the idea of harmful phone radiation from.

@Chun12015
@Chun12015 2 жыл бұрын
I studied chemistry for 4 years. Here’s my takeaway: The difference between electromagnetic energy and micro radiation is they both do not cause cancer. Colors are correlated to wave lengths which cannot penetrate through DNA or solid surfaces. If you stand close to a microwave it will not damage chromosomes or your DNA. Also the colour of visible light depends on its wavelength. These wavelengths range from 700 nm at the red end of the spectrum to 400 nm at the violet end. Visible light waves are the only electromagnetic waves we can see. And just to emphasize, Ionizing radiation mostly comes from radioactive sources. Several kinds of ionizing radiation will cause DNA damage. But for example: microwaves are not radioactive, and do not cause ionizing radiation. Another myth about microwaves is that they penetrate to the bone which is not true.

Like others are saying in the comments this is most likely due to people straining their eyes having their screen brightness too high rather than mysterious electromagnetic radiation waves penetrating their cranium and causing brain damage lol. Problem with you argument is that if you stay in sunlight 24/7 for month you will die. EM. rad. from 5G will bombard you nonstop, you can't hid from it, nobody really knows how this can impact some sensitive people, kids or fetus in pregnant woman. That why people should sleep in dark quiet room, because their body regenerate from day exposures to harmfull environment. You just add one more thing your body have to handle and regenerate from and it can't, because it's in constant exposure. Now in most crucial faze of your regeneration, you will be bombarded with something maybe not directly harmfull, but overexposure could be catastrofic.
@cujo7494
@cujo7494 4 жыл бұрын
@@ufiCz Sunlight and 5G are not the only electromagnetic radiation we're exposed to. We are constantly exposed to visible light, which is also electromagnetic radiation with 25000 times more energy than 5G (30ghz vs 750000 ghz for blue light). Sunlight contains UV radiation, which is ionising radiation and can damage your DNA because it contains lots of energy. Visible light is not ionising and 5G frequency doesn't come remotely close to a damaging frequency. It's really basic physics.
@ufiCz
@ufiCz 4 жыл бұрын
@@cujo7494 Can you tell me what type of visible light are we are constantly exposed ?
@cujo7494
@cujo7494 4 жыл бұрын
@@ufiCz Visible light = the light you can see with your eyes. Every object you see around you reflects EM radiation close to 800.000 ghz to your body constantly throughout your whole life, but this is not damaging to us because our cells have adapted to constant exposure. EM radiation can damage DNA above 1-10 million ghz, which is UV light and everything above, like gamma and x-rays. But 2/3/4/5G frequencies don't come even close to those numbers. And we have not seen evidence that low frequency EM radiation can causes cancer or other diseases.

I heard one story from friend of mine: He used to be an engineer and he was participate in costruction of radio tower for phone operator near one small town. After tower was build there are a lot of complaints was comin in to the local administration about health issue by concern citizens. They said that the headache, body temperature, heart attacks and others rates was icnreased since the tower was build. Local administration was calling phone operator to send someone who can take responsibility for this and solve this problem. So engineer guy was send by the company and when he was arrived to local administration he said: "All this issues appeared only when we built up a radio tower and now imagine what will happen if we turn it on..." So yeah, people often build false correlations and strings with independent and unrelated things to explain the source of their problems. Sorry for bad english if i was write something wrong.

UnKnown SoldierX if radio waves or WiFi was going to hurt you that would mean a light bulb is gonna do much worse lol. Visible light has a way higher frequency than microwaves such as 5g. Microwaves only cook food cuz all electromagnetic radiation transfers heat it’s just microwaves do it best at 1000 watts which is a lot of energy and at a really close distance where as a few feet away it’s thousands of times weaker. Visible light doesn’t hurt you so neither will radio waves or microwaves. Unless you had a really strong light bulb and put ur face on it and let the heat cook you just as the microwave would.

just a thing to think about when it’s sunny, ice cream sales goes up and the number of heat stroke patients also go up. But if you only had the analytics of the ice cream sales and the number of patients, you might assume that ice cream causes heat stroke, which is completely wrong.

That way of describing the difference between correlation and causation is extremely easy to understand for people who don't view the world very scientifically. Ryan Chen, well done! (And no, I'm not being sarcastic. Genuinely, well done.) I will be using it to describe that difference to any less scientifically inclined who have trouble understanding the concept. Cheers!

@@americantoastman7296 translation: "Man, I was looking for people with similar viewpoints to my own so that I could agree with them, and when I only found people disagreeing with me it made me mad". Ironically enough, your reply here lacks any content related to the video whatsoever. Your comment is more of a non-comment than the one you're replying to, but cognitive dissonance is a hell of a drug.
