I agree. Back when this was up for pre-order I opted for the sculpted. The rooted looks amazing. In optimal conditions, looks better. But it requires a bit more work and skill to look amazing. In this video for instance, the hair wasn’t looking it’s best (while it was in its own review video). So happy that I got the sculpted. Plus, I am not a fan of having multiple copies of the same character, so a two-pack was not very appealing to me.

Already got this version on preorder and it looks amazing. Really happy InArt and hot toys are going back and doing the dark knight trilogy figures again. Bane looks incredible and I really hope they do a Ra's Al Ghul and Scarecrow from batman begins. I'm still tempted to get this even though I have the rooted double-pack on order. I love the box, how it looks, how small and neat it is. The sculpted version has turned out great, though I would be heating up the hair and using tweezers to get it looking more messy. Great job once again Justin!

Great video and very detailed information on this Heath Ledger's Joker! I love the best Joker ever that Heath Ledger portrait. No one will come close to Heath's Joker. Yes, you do have the peace of mind that the sculpted hair won't fade, thin or deteriorate. That said, I have many rooted sculpts and they have held up very well over the years. This could be because I barely touch the hair, use product on it and store the pieces in low temperature locations.

The paint on the rooted head sculpt seems to be a touch nicer than the sculpted. I’m curious to see others in hand images to see if this is just variance in the product line, or if the rooted version was just given a bit more attention to the paint

It was a similar story with the sculpted hair on the Queen Studios 1/4 Heath Ledger Joker statue. The styling was great but the hair was only two colours - dark brown and dark green - and it was more brown than it was green. I decided to add depth by adding a lighter shade of green and some dark blonde highlights. I would probably do the same thing if I purchased this.

Hey Justin just got this for a steal in my opinion. Got it for about 640 after taxes and shipping so while not cheap much cheaper than others 😂 but with that in mind I think they might’ve went a little too above and beyond and I know that sounds strange but let me explain. The guns being metal, being able to cocked back and even have the magazine taken out is cool but really unnecessary and the metal guns make it hard on the magnetic hands where i would’ve preferred to have plastic guns to make it easier to pose for the figure. Also the magnetic stand is cool and mine works well I’ve figured you have to sort of lean it back. Also the box and the instructions are very fancy which is nice but at the same time really didn’t need to be. all in all probably could of take some of this out and made the figures a bit cheaper but hey it’s a premium figure and it feels like it. I like describing it as apple vs android you can get android phone (hot toy) that’s great great quality and one of the best but then you can get an apple phone that in some aspects isn’t superior or is just as good (inart) but the premium feel of the phone and opening is something the android can’t match. Weird comparison but that’s what I was thinking while opening it 😂

I just like the right eye makeup where the black goes up and the color of the red on the lips more on the older version but the inart version is superior to me in everything else. Not that it’s makeup isn’t good just isn’t my preferred choice

Regarding the comparison between the DX11.... While there has been advances in some areas, the age of the Hot Toys Jokers is mostly irrelevant, as is the scale when it comes to the accuracy of the sculpt. The skill of the artist and the amount of time they were given to iterate is what really counts. The likeness of the DX11 is not as good as other figures Hot Toys produced around the same time - Jack Nicholson Joker, DX09 Batman, Jack Sparrow, BD Robocop etc. Hot Toys has never truly nailed Heath's likeness, they have provided great sets (where the DX11 really shines), that's why so many of us have gone down the custom route. Viper/Inart have got much closer here.
