After a lot of hard work, in every spare moment I had, here it is! Hawaiian's inaugural flight from Orlando, Florida (MCO) to Honolulu, Hawaii (HNL). At 6.5 hours long, and over 200 GB in file size, this is by far the longest and largest upload I've ever released. This flight is full of great views, water cannon salutes, inaugural flight festivities, and so much more! Also, clocking in as one of the longest domestic flights in the world, you don't want to miss this one! As always, detailed timestamps are listed in the description if you don't want to sift through all 6.5 hours for the part you're interested in. All of this is available in crystal clear 4K at 60fps! See, I did get it published before I returned home from the trip! This is coming to you from my hotel room in Los Angeles, California. Anyways, enjoy the video everyone! A lot went into this one. I'm off to catch another flight! Also, as usual with flights like this. This is today's upload, there will be no 4:00pm central upload today. Enjoy!

I am also a KZbinr and know how it all works. You do have control of were and how many ads you can place. Shoot you could fill it up with them. There are two kinds of ads videos and pop up. Videos pay you more than pop up. Pop up has no sound and you could use them in between and the videos at the start and end.

If you look closely at the very bottom of the screen at the 55:40 mark, you can see the Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower as well as the Magic Kingdom park and Space Mountain! Also, at the 54:50 mark, that's Universal Orlando and I-4 just under and next to the middle two flap track fairings on the wing! At the same timestamp, you can also see SeaWorld and Aquatica towards the bottom-right hand corner of the screen, diagonal from Universal! Awesome that you managed to capture all three major Orlando amusement parks in this video, even if not on purpose! So cool to see from the air and so clear!

It added about an hour to the already 6 hour flight, which for an A321-200 was a LONG flight.

Well, at least you had the Exit Room seat in the back half of Economy. On the 777s when I can not get First Class on our two class aircraft, I do look for the Exit Row seating at the window for the long haul flights.. And then when I can not get the seat arrangement of what I want for Hawaii then I fly to L.A. I have family and friends there in L.A. Then later on towards the late afternoon or evening, I see how the flights are from LAX to Hawaii. The 777s, 767s and 757s aircraft from LAX are great aircraft and they at least have a couple First Class seats not taken. And there are many time I can also see in the Economy Class on the 767s for Exit Row seats as well. Be safe on your vacation there in Hawaii and i hope you have a great flight back home.

@sla313 жыл бұрын
The crew never made an announcement, but another KZbin creator who was on the flight went and asked after the flight. They told him, they had an unsecured door warning. Since we didn't return to the gate for the ground crews to secure cargo doors, I assume it must've been a passenger door. Probably a door that wasn't armed, or a malfunctioning sensor. As, I've mentioned in other comments about this, one does have to wonder why the crew didn't notice until we were lined up on the runway. I'm not a professional pilot, but I'd imagine "doors secure" is a checklist item at some point. Either way, that's why. I don't know if the problem was rectified, or perhaps the delay we took on the ramp was because they MEL'd it, to be fixed back in Honolulu.

@sla313 жыл бұрын
Thanks my friend. I've gotten pretty used to changing time zones now. But, going from eastern to Hawaii time was a lot. I went to bed early, and subsequently got up early. Ben Chu explained things pretty well, so I won't go into it again, but briefly, even though I'm fully vaccinated, I had to get a negative Covid test, just like every one else to bypass quarantine. The only other thing I'll add, is that they have started to pre-clear people. This seemed to be a VERY new thing for this flight, beaus the flight attendants didn't even know about it. If you had everything in order, and you showed your QR code at check in, you received a green wristband that allowed you to bypass screening in Hawaii, and walk off the plane just like a normal flight. It was very nice.

Looks like United will be getting them back in the air in the near future. Inspections will be carried out on the engines every 1000 flights instead of the usual 6500.

Is it me or do people not realize that you most likely had the camera on a suction mount, and didn’t hand-hold it for 6 hours...?
@sla313 жыл бұрын
@@get2dachoppa249 It's you ;). I hold the camera by hand, and do not use any type of mount when filming. Suction cup mounts have a bad habit of transferring the engine vibrations into the camera lens, which makes the footage look like jell-o. In order to get the best shot possible, I always hold the camera by hand, which includes everything you see in this video. Thanks for watching!
@mattthompson84873 жыл бұрын
@@get2dachoppa249 I know he holds the camera because there is movement throughout the video...like he said, if he mounts it, all you would hear is the vibration from the engine. The quality would be much lower. Anyways, his hand muscles are much appreciated😂😂😂

Great video - thank you. Was there any sort of announcement at all from the flight deck as to why he pulled off the active after lining up, and then waited on the taxiway pointing back to the terminal for several long minutes before lining up again and taking off? If not, then poor communication. Also my sympathies too, for having those non-stop yackety-yacks sitting behind (or in front) of you, talking constant diatribe for most of the flight!
@sla313 жыл бұрын
No, the crew never made an announcement. However, some digging after the flight, I.e., asking someone else who was on the flight, who asked the cockpit crew after the flight, I found out that it was a because they had an "unsecured door" light on in the cockpit. It must've been a cabin door, otherwise we would've had to go back to the terminal. My guess is a cabin door wasn't armed properly. One does have to wonder why it wasn't noticed until we had lined up for takeoff.

I have over 300 1:200 models in my collection. Most of which are GeminiJets. Been collecting 1:200ish modes now for almost 20 years. It really started with plastic models before GeminiJets was even really a thing. At least the Gemini200 line. Russell 🤔. I used to be pretty active on a lot of model aircraft forums. Pretty sure there was someone named Russell who used the screen name CrownVic (or something similar) who was related to the Gemini family. Any relation? 🤔. I tried to buy a one off Gemini sample of the Philadelphia Eagles US Airways Airbus A319-100 off him, for my US Airways collection, but couldn’t get him to part with it.

HNL is a nice airport, but you're right, it's horribly about of date. And it's not any better now with Covid. With all of the Hawaii Safe Travels screening stuff that's been put up, they've made a lot of "quick" renovations that make things look even older and more out of date.

Did the crew ever explain the takeoff delay? Perhaps I missed it?
@sla313 жыл бұрын
The crew never made an announcement, but after the flight "theplanesguy", who was also on the flight, went to cockpit and asked the crew. They said there was a door not secured properly. @LBJackson43 жыл бұрын
The 787-9 will not be replacing the A330s in Hawaiians fleet. They’re a little over 10 years old. The 787-9s are being added to potentially expand on longer routes that the A330-200s can’t fly. There’s rumors that there could be a HNL-London route, which they’d be able to do with a 787-9
