'Gray’s Inn, the City and the Public Interest'
An event in partnership with the City of London Law Society.
This is the inaugural lecture by Ali Malek QC, Master Treasurer of Gray’s Inn for 2021. He is a member of 3VB and a former chair of COMBAR. Moderated by Edward Sparrow. The lecture will focus on the way that the Inn and City are involved in promoting London’s position in international dispute resolution, the role of English law in the new courts around the world and the Rule of Law. The talk will explore the importance of social responsibility, diversity and inclusion. Consideration will be given as to how the role of the Inn has expanded beyond the education and training of barristers and how it might change in the virtual world post-Pandemic.
