President Rodrigo Roa Duterte inaugurates the Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) Project in a ceremony at the CCLEX Toll Plaza in Cordova, Cebu on April 27, 2022.
The CCLEX, envisioned to become one of the tourist attractions in the Visayas, is an 8.9-kilometer road that links mainland Cebu in Cebu City to Mactan Island through the Municipality of Cordova.
The monumental project has a design speed of 60-80 kilometers per hour (kph) and a navigational clearance or height of 52 meters that would allow large vessels to pass underneath the bridge. It is also expected to serve around 50,000 vehicles daily.
