I would love to see more of Vegeta and Gohan's relationship with each other. There was just so many interactions between them that I felt could have made a really interesting dynamic between the two. Vegeta saving Gohan from danger from time to time when Gohan was a kid (and Gohan doing vice versa) and the many inner dialogues Vegeta had commenting on Gohan's power definitely shows a potential for a rather strong bond between the two. I like to think that Vegeta would be that no nonsense uncle that Piccolo use to be for Gohan, being the person unafraid to give it to him straight when he needed it (which I think he only did this once after assimilating into the group). It would be nice just to see them have something more, yanno?

Piccolo pretty much nailed it on the head. In order for Gohan to be strong and retain his power he's got to learn to develop a fighters mentality first , find a motivation that fuels it and not just fight because he was told to or feel forced into doing it. @Syed Abdullah Ali With all of this "new filler" being added into this game, I am starting to get a Dragon Ball Super vibe now; almost like this game is attempting to retcon the original lore. For example, from this scenario alone, the plot is suggesting that Gohan wanted to seek training-help from the other Z-Fighters when his current SSJ2 form was already superior to the other Z-Fighter's skills in almost every way. This is, of course, including Vegeta's USSJ form, as well. To me, this filler scenario's logic makes no sense and I wish the game's scriptwriters made a better effort at making this scenario seem more logical than it was portrayed here.

Honestly, I wish that Gohan and Vegeta had interacted more. Vegeta's arc has always been about coming to terms with not naturally being the best and what that means for him and Goku but he never really got over the superiority complex from being a 'pure blooded Saiyan' etc, and he somehow seemed far less bothered about his strength being surpassed by Kakarot's half-breed son than he was by Goku himself. I think Gohan and Vegeta could have some really interesting dialogue since they're just as opposed in personality, but Gohan is far more intelligent and well-spoken than Goku

Wouldn’t you be mad too if your 5 year old son Got kidnap for a year, almost killed, sent into the far reaches of space, again almost dies(broken neck). Then gets back home and is trained to fight robots that fucked up grown ass men in the future. Can you really blame her for yelling at her husband that is a worst father figure than his former mortal enemy who tried to kill him and all of his friends. To be honest Dragonball is like a giant episode of Jerry Springer.

Games not that fantastic. If you like the cutscenes? Sure, go for it. But dont go in expecting an amazing combat experience. The fights are all basically the same, enemies are all meatshields that spam the same 3 attacks, high energy blast volly, a swiping kick and a large energy wave attack, and all give them super armor so there isn't really any way to hit them out of it. The combat is really easy after the first raditz fight and I got halfway through the android saga when I stopped playing. Its a dragonball Z game with awful fighting. IMO people over exaggerate the issues with overworld moving, you get used to it, but the world is so empty. No varying loot, you see an item orb? Its a D-medal, and flying around collecting the Z orbs gets really boring. Any quest that isn't a fight is a fetch quest which is also really boring. Do what you want with your money, but if all you want this game for is the cutscenes just watch the anime.

It never made any damn sense to me that Gohan would never train or keep up his strength he worked so hard to build over the 7 years between the Cell arc and the Buu arc. For him to never do so I believe goes entirely against his character. Gohan was always the kind of guy who was self analytical about himself, even to a fault. I dont for a second believe he never challenged himself based on his mistakes in the fight against Cell, never wanting to train or get stronger, protect the legacy of his father as Earths defender. He knew full well what his power meant to the world and where he stood against any threats that could occur later. This whole in between story here is exactly how I imagined the story would continue naturally as it should have been. But Toriyama was obviously tired of the series and too lazy to try and write Gohan as his own main protagonist so he went with the easy choice and that was Goku again. If he wasnt fatigued with writing the manga by this point I think what we see here is how Gohan would have been in the Buu saga and beyond. Imagine how different the story would be without Goku as the main character? It's interesting to think about

I don't know Gohan never liked fighting and he was always afraid and doubting himself. Without Gokus influence on Chichi she would have kept on Gohan about studying and school work, so the fact he stopped training fits his character in my opinion. Especially in times of peace. Think about it from Raditz to Cell the only real time of peace was the 3 years before the Androids but they still trained because of Trunks' warning. His whole life was spent fighting, yet he still continued to doubt himself. As a Gohan fan it sucks to say but he didnt have the desire for battle like Vegeta, Goku and the Others. So while I wish things had been different, from what's shown throughout the series it is mostly in line with his character that he wouldnt keep training without a threat.

Half-Saiyans have far more potential than Pure Saiyans, but they have a far less of a passion for battle. Gohan hates fighting, unlike his father who lives and breathes combat. Gohan was was a badass during the Cell Games because the circumstances pushed him to be one. It’s not his natural condition.

He's briefly mentioned and implied that he doesn't LIKE to fight, specifically when there's no reason to and when he believes there's another way to resolve a conflict to end things in a peaceful manner. He's always been completely on board with joining a fight or dangerous adventure if it involved something he felt the need to help with. He agrees to have Piccolo continue being his mentor despite his harsh and cruel treatment just to train in preparation for Nappa and Vegeta, who they already knew were gonna make the recently and *barely* defeated Raditz look like a bitch by comparison. He willingly tagged along with Krillin and Bulma in traveling to Planet Namek despite Chi-Chi yelling in his face to try forcing him not to and in Namek, takes on some of Frieza's underlings before later challenging Frieza himself even after he transformed knowing full well that the confrontation(s) could have been avoided. There's many more examples of him voluntarily taking part of a battle or risky adventure because he felt it was necessary in order to protect the people he cares about and the lives of all the innocent people and wildlife who're also on the line. He was always aware of the kind of power he had and what he could be capable of when his emotions run wild, which Goku was also fully aware of and is why he trained Gohan and chose him to fight Cell in the first place. He's never had a problem with fighting when the time absolutely called for it or when someone simply wanted to spar. He just doesn't share the same passion and constant crave for senseless combat like pure saiyans do, hence why Gohan's emotions still hinder him from focusing on himself and the fight at hand whereas the complete opposite is true for Goku and Vegeta, and the same would actually go for the other hybrid saiyans in the franchise; Future Trunks for example. Their emotions allow them the ability to get a significant power boost in a very short amount of time which isn't believed to be possible with pure saiyans, but it also makes them very rash and wasteful of their own energy.

I love this! This is what should have happened after the cell games saga you can see the respect Vegeta has for Gohan. Seeing how strong Gohan became was his pride was hurt? yes but you can see it in Vegeta's eyes that he was astounded that Gohan had that much power. And have Gohan realize you know what tranning is also important I can still go to school but I need to be strong when my father isn't around I have to be the one to step in. I think if Gohan went and explained thar to Vegeta that he wants to get stronger and he wants to train I believe Vegeta would have train with Gohan. Because Vegeta would have a Worthy opponent with Gohan being the strongest at that point and I think Vegeta would have loved to have sparring matches with him. I don't know how Vegeta would be a good teacher at this time. He f_cked up in the Cell saga more than any other time, by letting Cell become perfect, then costing Gohan an arm.
