The Inca did have a form of writing and calculations, etc. it was the Quipu or what most people assume it was used for. and the Inca made toys with wheels and most likely had potters wheels, the reason they didnt use wheels was apparently as some say, they didn't need The Wheel. The Wheel would have been completely useless on Mountain Terrain, Rainforest Terrain

Always sad to see the lack of recognition for Indigenous Australian societies, the longest continuous civilisation still living today, with the Gunditjmara people having created the earthworks of Budj Bim as eel traps for aquaculture over 6000 years ago and with one of the first recorded ceremonial burial of people at Lake Mungo, 45,000 years ago, whose descendants survive among the Paakantji, Mutthi Mutthi and Ngiyampaa people.

Historia Civilis gives a pretty simplified but understandable definition of Moiety in his Iroquois video. As someone who studied in Peru for a semester (atop a lifetime of loving virtually anything Peruvian), this is INCREDIBLY done. Anyone interested really oughtta read up on Manco Inca's Rebellion against the Spanish. It is one of the most heroic histories I have ever read, and has built up a respect for the Incas like no other.

Maya glyphs used to be thought of as purely decorative. That, I think, is the scientific method: start at 0 and then prove that it is not 0. Problem is many people get stuck on the 0 and require huge amounts of evidence to move forward. I believe that there is information encoded in the colored strings.

Hi Jack. You didn't mention the killing of the royal family made by Atahualpa. Inca Garcilaso de la Vega mentions that he tried to kill the whole royal family (that was very big) in a very cruel manner and that he was specially cruel with women and children. He also mentions that the few survivors spited when they heard the name of Atahualpa and that they were content that the spanish had judged and condemned to death this cruel king.

the wheel in particular needs to stop being a benchmark of civilization. how is the wheel going to help you travel the sahara and the andes? it's not. there are toys with wheels that were all over the americas so clearly they knew what a wheel was but didn't use them for a reason. you're damn right we should start an introduction of the Inca and others with accomplishments. like look at the amazing masonry, trade networks, fine cloth, astronomical knowledge, and management systems.

Great job. Thanks. Just some additional things. Pachacutic saw Viracocha the one God. Pachacutic's poetry to the one God is amazingly beautiful. When God talked to him, he said the sun, moon and stars are not gods. I the creador am the only God. Until then, all Incas coming from the eight brothers and sisters that came out of the Island of Puna were idolaters. When Pachacutic brought to the leaders at the Coricancha (their meeting field in Cusco, the desire to have one God and no more adoration of ídolos. The council said that the groups they had conquered may uprise against them. It's interesting that then the Spanish came bringing the same teaching Pachacutic chose not to teach about.

There is a reason why most European genealogies end on Saint Arnulf (d. 645). There was a period of actual 'dark age' in Western Europe between the fall of Rome and the Carolingian times. If somebody could trace their ancestry to Roman times than it would be through Bysantine emperors.

Sería interesante descifrar la genealogía de Moctezuma (emperador Azteca) y Cortés (conquistador español); del cual se sabe de varios matrimonios de ambos con descendencia hasta nuestros días. Felicidades por sus gráficos.

Many in the upper classes of Ecuador and Perú, and Colombia descend from the Inca leaders abd from other regional leaders. A descendant of Huayna Capac through the Coya Francisca, daughter of Huayna Capac, former president of Ecuador Camilo Ponce Enríquez.

I imagine how many mysteries linger on. The people that choose to get away from battles. I have some meso, from a french acadian area tribe. it is bizarre. I am still trying to nail down my irish with spanish Y dna and croation ancinet graves...now I've got a meso american as my native trail. They'll never figure america out completely. I hope they get haplogroups organized at a minimum. Great video. the records stuff.. I give up too easily. I choose dna as the guide.

See I would submit my chart I've been working on of Clan Gordon and their connections to English & Scottish Royalty, but it's way too large and is more horizontal than vertical. But through my research so far, I've determined that my 17th cousin is Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, and my 15th cousins 1x removed are both Diana, Princess of Wales and actress Cara Delevingne.

Great video, but 2 things: 1) myth: Pizarro conquered the inka state with few men because the weapons were better. Fact: civil war, diseases, and thousands of native allies (from the Cañari, Huancas and Chachapoyas to the several Inka princes who saw opportunities to become emperors themselves, like Paullu and Manco. The Spanish thought they had installed them, but reading all the sources, that seems extremely unlikely and illogical) 2) people like Atawalpa actually had a lot of children (like Francisco Túpac Atauchi) as well. I think they also should be mentioned here.
