UIW was so close to sending it to OT, and at that point who knows what happens. Sam Houston dating back to the Spring playoffs has been incredibly clutch when they absolutely have to be. Really great game.

Sam Houston was always a great football team, I'm not sure what conference they will be joining in the FBS, but all I know is they are joining the FBS in 2024 I believe?

Sam Houston State will be entering Conference USA in Fall 2023. UIW were getting bailed out by the refs for the entire 2nd half. I was there & there was a lot of bs calls made against SHSU that should not have been made. We sacked UIW’s quarterback so many times out of the pocket, that the refs ended up calling roughing the passer, which only applies if the QB is in the pocket or if the ball was well out of the QB’s hands (which it most of the time wasn’t or barely was out of his hands), as well as a bs targeting call that wasn’t targeting at all near the end of the game. The SHSU safety or CB who was called for targeting hit the UIW WR in the chest, & as I recall, Targeting only applies to the head. Regardless, The Champs were always supposed to win & we did.

I've been looking for FCS football and I've been able to find it over the last year because of this channel. For FCS football to get all the exposure it deserves ALL the conferences need to work together. There is no reason media, players, and coaches can't be commenting on or showing up at the Celebration Bowl next weekend or interacting more with Eddie George, Hue Jackson, and Coach Prime.

To think that up until 7 months earlier, these two teams were Southland Conference rivals and Sam Houston made me, a McNeese dropout, happy to win a national title for our conference. UIW played like the best team in the Southland, a shame they couldn't get it done. Better luck next year, Cards.

I think they will do good in the C-USA, given the fact they are in talent rich Texas, and having built a reputation for themselves, will attract quality FBS talent.

@@keyowilson5695 I think they will do well too; they've been to the FCS playoffs many times, so maybe starting off at bowl elegibility in the FBS, and then later in the future win a few conference championships.

What blows my mind is how Coach Keeler didn't tell the offense at 14:53 to get to the middle of the field and fall down. Then knee it 2 twice to get the field goal on 4th down giving Incarnate Word less than 20 seconds to get into field goal range. That just blows my mind. Luckily Incarnate got stopped on the one and it worked out but sadly that could have backfired that touchdown. Sometimes scoring a touchdown gives the opponent another chance.

Announcers freaking out over the guy not getting out of bounds was unnecessary. It was gonna be final play anyway 4th and goal with 35 seconds is plenty of time.
