Funny enough, I did think about (in my first watch) the fact that since Cillian Murphy's projections were already attacking when no one had changed anything, they could just as easily go nuts in that first dream level. Having Ryan point it out, I'm now like, "yeaaaaaaa. Exactly!"

My favorite analysis of Inception is Kyle Kallgren's. He compares the plot and world building to the craft of filmmaking, and ends the shebang with "'Is the ending real or imaginary?' Of course it's imaginary. It's a _movie._ What else did you expect?"

Ryan is a genius himself. Just like Inception his video about it is also mostly exposition. Brilliant.

I remember the first time I watched Inception. Me and my buddies actually bet to see who would get lost last. I hung in there until somewhere in the middle of the snow dream, where my brain exploded. I manage to win the bet, which was a pizza... but never got the damn thing.

All right, you got me to subscribe by shouting out to Dark City... that's a DEEP CUT, man! I actually own that on DVD from a couple decades ago haha. Great analogies. Fun reaction. I found your channel because of Ryan George, and I have to give you two some props for ACTUALLY reacting, crediting, etc. Cheers!

Ha, in addition to the 13th Floor, The Matrix and Dark City, there was another movie around that time that hit upon that sort of thing...Existenz. There may have been some Outer Limits episodes that hit in that area also. Anyway...another Pitch Meeting down...all have been pretty great.

About the hallway scene spinning was shot, I’m not sure how it was done but I imagine it was somewhat similar to Jamiroquais Virtual Insanity music video which, sorry to ruin “the magic” for those who don’t know or haven’t seen it, was actually shot with the room moving around and rotating while Jay Kay(lead singer) moves around with it. Honestly it doesn’t ruin the magic saying that. You just need to watch it as it’s intended then watch it again from a cinematography perspective. It’ll kinda blow your mind because you’ll actually start to see the room move lol.

I'm sittin' here, screaming at my screen, "DARK CITY! DARK CITY!!!". lolI saw that with a couple friends in theaters and 1 of my friends, Matt, had already been thru rehab 5 times for EVERYTHING. By the end of Dark City, Matt was sitting on the backrest of his chair balled up, and somehow still balancing on the back of the chair, repeating, "Gary never gets to pick the MOVIE again. Gary never gets to pick the MOVIE again...". I was all, "I didn't know it was gonna freak you out!" Which earned me a finger in my face and a hearty, "YOU KNEWWWWWW!!!" 😁😁😁

Chekov's Gun - show a gun in a movie or show or in a book, etc. etc. if you do so, it needs to be of use later on or it's a useless detail that just adds more information that is not gonna be of use - which can confuse people a lot, especially if they catch onto the detail (aka. gun).... and there's never a payoff for it.

I have only 1 confusion 1. When Leo is talking about his children throughout movie, he can't see the face, they don't turn around 2. At Ending, When he reaches home, his children turn around and we can finally see their faces. But here is an catch, these children are wearing same clothes, they are of same age. 3. I mean how is that possible. They should have grown atleast little. They should be wearing different clothes. Scene should have been at different location, say in drawing room o kitchen. 4. That's y i think, he was still in a dream What day ???

What people don't get about Christopher Nolan is he doesn't really have Checkoffs guns...what he has is symbolisms for days...and he tries to portray a feeling and/,or message using proxies to create a visceral response on a subconscious level until you rewatch the film and start breaking down it's levels...Inception had levels/layers of meaning similarly to the dreams in the movie...in fact creating dreams is a metaphor for making movies and/or watching movies in the movie

Some questions I don't think were answered: 1. How did Cobb and Moll get into limbo? Did they heavily sedate themselves and then kill themselves in their dream? 2. Why did Cobb need to manipulate Moll to get her to leave limbo? Couldn't he have just tossed her in front of the train? 3. Why would limbo's eternity drive you insane if all you have to do to leave is die? 4. When Cobb realized Moll was insane, why didn't he just take her back to limbo and remove the totem from the safe? Surely the concept would have applied both ways. 5. Why is Eames the only character who can disguise himself? Seems like a talent every extractor should be practicing immediately upon embarking on this career path. 6. What consequence is there to alerting the projections if you can easily kill all of them without waking up the dreamer? 7. How could you possibly mistake a dream for the real world when you can constantly reshape the rules of the dream? 8. If Moll is a rogue manifestation of Cobb's guilt, then she is projection. This means anyone going into someone else's dream should be able to form their own projection. Hell, they should be able to have their own army, right? 9. How the hell do you dream-share? More importantly, how is there a single dreamer in whose unconscious the others reside at any given time? I'm pretty sure this movie forgot to mention it exists in an alternate reality with true if somewhat limited extrasensory perception. 10. How does being declared work in the real world? Even if three mental healthcare professionals declared her "sane", doesn't the fact she was declared by three separate practitioners raise any red flags? People don't get second opinions for good news (unless they're hypochondriacs). The fact it took three separate doctors to confirm in collusion she was not apparently batshit crazy should have said something either to her own ability to accept her sanity or to Cobb's concern for his wife's wellfare.

Thr wasn't any *flaw* 🙄 1) if they change too much everyone will attack , but now only a defence unit trained for this situation is attacking also fisher is thier car he will see thn changing suff & realise its a dream ( he didn't know that YET) 2) the car rotate will not wake them up , as said previously in the movie by chemist with heavy seductive he made in a way inner ear can hear anything so they play music whn its time, so seductive gets week & now u can feel a slap or kick, they wake up through all layers cuz its time now they feel kick, 3) the car rotation will affect only the next lvl of dream state, not all the other lvls within it, this will carry out throughout the movie, explosion in elevator kick will cause snow avalanche in next lvl, car rotation will cause hotel rotation, explosion in snow place causes limbo builds collapse Thr is no flaw 😁
