I believe the Emergency Weather Detention pay is very fair. $150 per 24-hour period is far better than the $50 I received 15 years ago as a driver. Also, the risk of accidents, lawsuits, loss of life, damage to the company's image, and a whole host other other subjects is mitigated. Crete has made a good business decision, protecting the assets, drivers, and the motoring public.

How cool!!! Nice to 'meet' you here, in the comments, Kim! Thank you for your helping to develop this new application! We really appreciate getting some compensation when having to shut down due to weather! We are very happy to have chosen Crete! We think it's a stellar company and gladly share our experience here on KZbin. Hopefully we can meet in person some day! Are you in Lincoln? If so...please be sure to stay warm and keep safe!!!

I'm leaving out to San Francisco California tonight from N.C. is 2700 miles I think i'm gonna hit in a interstate I-40 And they're calling for warmer weather next Last week I was on interstate I-90 In Washington state That word it was really bad and lol of black ice. Hi Edward! Congratulations!!! 🎊 That’s great!! Who are you driving for now? We hope you have a really good experience with Crete!!! It’s still trucking, so nothing is perfect, 😉but as you’ve seen in our videos, we are happy here and think it’s a good company. You’ll see that there’s lots of old timers and people who say it’s the company they plan to finish out their driving career with. We are glad you’ve been ‘riding’ with us for two years already!!! 😃Thank you so much for using our code. We really appreciate that!!! Please introduce yourself if you see us somewhere along the way so we can thank you in person! We wish you a smooth transition! Let us know how it goes.

I'm curious how they handle the purchase of things like anti gel for the truck when you're not near a terminal. Do they give you funds up front? Add it at pump under additional products? You pay out of pocket and then they put it on your check? My current employer has us pay out of our pockets then apply for reimbursement. The cold temps have me going broke from buying anti gel

So they only pay you for 10 hours and not 11 hours. Does not seem right to me. So you get shut down 10 times hypothetical, you lose 150 dollars. Just saying.
@tlyon51969 ай бұрын
While i agree with what you say, lets be honest. Unless you are looking to run your 70 out every week, your not running 11 hours a day every day.
@TheJoyofTrucking9 ай бұрын
Sure…more is always better. 😆😆😆And you are right, Kevin generally tries to run out the clock, so that’s $15 short…but…getting anything at all is an improvement. And…if you get shut down 10 times…OMG…time to find a new area/job. 🥶I’m thinking drivers with those type of jobs probably have a different pay structure. Kevin has only been shut down once in three years due to inclement weather. Last Christmas we got caught in ‘The Storm of a Generation’ but it was time for a reset, so that was perfect timing. When we got going again Kevin felt it was safe to drive.
@TheJoyofTrucking9 ай бұрын
@@tlyon5196 Kevin tends to drive out his clock in 6 days, so he often runs very close to 11 hours. But…we are grateful to get any kind of inclement weather pay. Even if it’s a bit short.
