I first heard it by a group called Side Effects, back in the late '70s.

@@midmidori Ronnie Laws wrote the original jazz instrumental in the 70's. Later on words were written for it, and Side Effects recorded it. Incognito eventually made it the hit that it became.

Was blessed to see Incognito live and the show was outstanding🔥🔥 !!!!!!! But on a heavier note I just recently lost one of my closest friends who also "Loved" this band and he had the chance to see them do "their thing" with us several years ago and was still talking about it. I can sing like her ...and am in the process of recording a Contemporary Funk and Soul album that'll sound very similar to Incognito's music. It takes a lot of work to protect and care for a voice like this. Certainly not easy and actually lacking sleep is one of the worst things for it.

What an amazing live version of this classic! The band (and drummer especially) are pro’s and I love that bluesy take at the beginning. Very tasty! But- NOBODY! -not even the 1976 original Evelyn “Champagne” King, can touch who fronted Icognito for the 1991 hit remake; the vocal powerhouse that is Jocelyn Brown!! Joceylyn has those pipes that can be neither duplicated, nor mistaken! 👑😌🏆
