Thank you! My students use individual visual schedules when transitioning from whole group to centers and while we are at centers. When it’s time to transition during centers, I use a wireless doorbell. Students learn that when they hear this, they check their schedule and go to the next center. My students do so well with this format!

The core words I use are both high frequency and core fringe words from AAC devices.

students who do not sit are encouraged to attend with visuals and reinforcement. I structure my classroom so students cannot access other areas during whole group time. We used timers, visuals, and preferred reinforcement to gradually ease them into sitting. It’s very successful.

Non speaking students are encouraged to participate with visuals, gestures, and AAC devices. I make sure to keep my activities accessible to all of my students and no one is ever excluded from our activities.
