Charger power is usually measured in watts, which is the result of amperes times voltage

Mr Kistel, I completely agree with Daniel Wolf. DELETE THIS VIDEO. Even if you have a disclaimer, if something happens to someone, their lawyer WILL come after you. In that case, the best outcome will be that you pay them tens of thousands to drop the case. Viewers: DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS. It may “work”, but if it causes a fire in your house or your car, there is NO WAY your insurance company will pay the claim, and hopefully no one gets hurt in the process!

It'll work fine for the wimpy Bolt charger, but anything over 12 Amps (continuous) is not a good idea.
@brianwgDK2 жыл бұрын
that was disappointing, already got 240v but I can get a 400v 32A 😁

Most computers and cell phone chargers will take 240
@MrKistel2 жыл бұрын
It seems like it would be practical to make most electronics to handle 240 volts considering much of the world use 240 volt.

@@MrKistel I've ran servers on 240 using similar plugs, it's more efficient

@@AgentOffice interesting idea. Thanks for sharing.

Yup, most switching power supply can handle anywhere between 100v and 250v.

You have way too much exposed copper wire Is exposed from circuit breaker.

Ya, it was actually trimmed up before final install
@jonmayer2 жыл бұрын
That was a tiny pull, should have put a bigger gauge wire so you could use a 32 Amp charger one day.

Thanks for the tip. In this case I happened to have some spare 10gauge Romex and felt it was appropriate for the 20amp circuit installed. I don't have plans to beef up that outlet but if so I guess I could just re-pull a larger wire set. I would also beef up the receptacle box at that time I would think anyway. Pretty convenient if I ever needed to make a change since it is so close to the main panel.

It doesn't appear that much of anything you did would pass code. While this may work I would recommend removing this dangerous advice before it causes irreparable harm.
