I like the dynamic of Mike, Mark and Kelly. In Kelly's own videos he tends to talk too fast and spew information constantly but having Mike and Mark there asking questions (making jokes) really helped the info be more digestible.

Whoa guy, I'm sorry if your assclown of an ideal teacher has very little credentials and contributes absolutely nothing to the lifting community. But that's not my fault. Given your choices, you're probably looking to the wrong people anyhow. Ever heard the saying if you want to make $100,000, don't listen to someone who only made $50,000. Not only are the shear forces a problem at the lumbar spine, but nucleus pulposus can also migrate and "worm" through the annulus fibrosis of the disc when it isn't in a lordotic position under load. As far as I know, this is what causes the herniation.

Great vid Mike the last part about how to break from the hips really hit home, often we assume pinching forward is breaking but we're just fucking up our alignment. Going to keep this in mind and work on my hip flexion.

Hey Mike, I know you use to play basketball, do you think you could make a video/video series on strength, mobility, explosiveness, etc... in order to increase vertical leap (for basketball or volley ball for example?) There are alot of programs out there that are very expensive and seems to be scams. I am sure people would trust advice coming from you Keep up the good work!

Start jumping rope like a boxer get to the point where toy can do double unders in a row for 30 seconds. Get a tennis ball or size 2, ball practice dunk on a hoop size that's decent. Building strength on your deadlift and squat add a bit of plyo in there just jump onto the box as high as you can go. Really that's about it IMO. But jump rope definitely is big ... Watch IntheLab10000 he got some good stuff on there

Yo mike is there such a thing as over retracting your scapula on your exercises. Everyone talks about its importance in bench.. Although, I know its good in other exercises such as lat pull downs and many others. Am i harming my back by doing these? I feel like im getting a better more equal contraction but I can cramp up!

Jason Robinson I used to do this bad. Focusing on 2 key elements fixed the problem entirely. 1st element is making sure your hip angle and knee angle are widening at the exact same time. If the knees move faster, the ass comes up. 2nd is focus on bringing the chest up while you're driving the hips forward, as the hip angle is widening.

hey guys, for those who have problem with buttwink, while kelly is defenitly a cool dude with alot of knowledge he does talk to much spanish for people to understand. i used to have pretty bad butt wink, after 2 months of training it is gone allmost completely. i can get into a good atg position now without oly shoes easly. the bigest problem is motor controll and bracing. flexibility is deffo something to work on but atleast for me i found that hip hinging at start allowed me to get a better arch when im at bottom. also even when doing bodyweight squats you should brace your core like taking a huge punch, if you do this you will get rid of it, problem solved.

Think Kelly is missing the idea of genetics in femur rotation. you can improve rotation through stretching but the position of the femur in the hip socket varies and will give people more/less rotation that they can't improve

Frustrating to watch. This is probably personal preference. It felt like I was watching a high school science presentation, when the smart kid gets paired with the class clowns and they keep interrupting him to make crap, bottom of the barrel jokes. Pretty warped to get Kelly's brain at your disposal and decide to chat shit over the top of him. I've gained a lot by watching SM's videos, never had a reason to complain before, but this felt like some sort of injustice - I had to get my internetz on. The content in this video, after sifting through the fart jokes, is gold as always.

Good video but many flaws. Kelly needs to understand anatomical variations as some have shallow hip sockets, others very deep. Also femur necks are different.

I too tend to wonder how much natural variations in genetics he attributes to bad flexibility. I also wonder to what extent a person can increase these 'end ranges'. I tried deep squats for a while and it never felt like my ankle flexion increased.

This is completely stupid. Depth of squat is determined by genetics. Forcing to to increase hip internal rotation will cause hip impingement. You sd squat down to a range that your genetics allow. A wider stance and feets planted naturally will give you better depth.

This doesn't sound like a loose cable. It sounds like a lack of bitrate causing audible artefacting all over. Check your recording settings (this sounds like 64kbit mp3 / 10bit / 22,5kHz or something along those lines). Thanks anyway for the great content! Keep it up!
