Increasing A Car Wash's Value w/ Dog Washes | Episode 5

I toured a couple of local car washes that use dog washes as a form of extra income. I've learned that dog washes can end up adding a lot of value to a car wash, and adding a dog wash is definitely at the top of my list of things to add to my car wash.

I think dog washes are the premium addition. It's cheaper thana dog groomer but better equipped than a bathtub or lawn.

Thanks for sharing about Coinless. That was a solution that I was looking for. I think that the turn off for many at these self serve car washes is having to deal with cash and quarters. As a millennial, I hardly ever carry cash and if I do, it was probably from someone paying me in cash.

I pay the groomer's $45 for a clip and wash/groom for my mini schnauzer before tip. I'd say $10 is not unreasonable. I'd expect the drying takes most of the time. The convenience is the key as my groomer is not always available and when they are, they take all day.

There are two car washes near me (small rural area, both are 20 miles away in different directions). I no longer have a dog, but have used both in the past. Both of them were included in the building when it was built new, they were both single use. I don't like the setup of the first wash in this video where somebody else can come in..just think- barking, etc.

20 minutes + is a long drive for a dog bath. These dog wash modular units could easily be setup at a park, convenience store, etc. Maybe there is an opportunity there.

Thought about mobile dog washes and putting them in the car parks near muddy walks but probably too much hassle. People do spend a lot on their pets so which is probably why they cost alot. Probably could add even more vending for pet related items as well. So do people vacuum their dogs?

We absolutely have and also have quotes to do so. Right now we just want to generate a revenue base though.
