Mother's Day is coming up and statistically speaking (based on the polls that I took), you may be missing out an your biggest sales day opportunity. Hopefully by spending less than 15 minutes by watching this video, I'll have earned you at least 15% in extra revenue ;-)
PS- I sound worse than I feel!

For sure, thanks for the insight you provide Marie. Hearing that you grow tulips for MDay was really good food for thought for me as it pertains to next year’s plans!

I usually do a $20-25 wrap. I’m doing a premium bouquet this year at $65.

Nice!! Do you have certain flowers in your $65 offering that you don't in a $20-25 wrap?

I have to admit I was skeptical when I started watching this video. But, you convinced me to offer a more premium option at a higher price. My normal jars are $15 and $25. I think I will offer a pottery piece with upgraded flowers for $35 or $40, depending on the cost.

Yes, Jesse!! I only offer very specific vase arrangements for Mother’s Day. All these arrangement’s are more expensive and more premium than everyday offerings through out the year. The same goes I have found for thanksgiving.

Wonderful Video this is my 2nd year Straight flower farming. I sell year round in Zone 8 and Made over $100k just selling flowers my 1st year! I agree with increasing prices not only for Mother's Day but really setting a tone for what your labor, time and creativity is worth. It's very important like you said to have more affordable options for customers. Thank you for your videos! 🤗

No I do not increase my prices for Mother’s Day or any other holiday. I do offer an additional more expensive bouquet for each holiday. I would also say not to make holidays big stressful events to make a bit more money. That’s for florists. I focus on my customers and what I have. My customers want what I am growing, not “professional” arrangements. As always thank you for your videos. 🙏

this resonates for me and i responded similarly on the fb post jesse alluded to. i am profitable and my customers are lining up, i sell what i grow and manage time and expenses to not need all the extra everything. i also am a mom and want the time with my own family. this year they stay the same.

I think that is great that you have such clarity and have a reason to stand your ground! There are others out there who are “seeking permission” to raise prices and this hopefully gives them the encouragement. There is obviously no right or wrong here 😌

I'm in Australia, I had to buy flowers in, so doubled my usual market bouquet price, a local charity ordered 8 of my usual bouquets so I wont charge them extra as they are loyal all year and I used mostly my own grown flowers for their 8. Now I will go and make a more expensive option with a higher price again, it will be an interesting weekend😂

(Not a flower farmer)... But I would have done $45. At the end of the video, I would say $75. As someone who buys flowers for people on these holidays... I've spent as much as $125.

And I love that this came from a man. Not that women can’t buy flowers for MDay (ironically most of my preorders are from women) but I do think men are willing to spend even more on this day for their wives and mothers 😁

I’ve been debating what to do because I’ve only been selling for 3 weeks but I love the idea of selling a more premium option and making things readily giftable for the partners out there. Thanks for the encouragement to go for it!

I love your videos because you discuss the business side of flowers. Thank you for your expertise on this. I'm new to flower farming and new to my state and a completely different climate to learn. I would say 90% of the flowers I'm growing I've never grown before as well so a huge learning curve. Learning this business and all the information out there is like drinking through a fire hose. Your videos make this side of the business much clearer. Next Mother's Day I'll be ready!

I normally do a $25 wrapped bouquet. For Mother’s Day I’m doing the same at $30 and I added a $50 premium jar with ribbon (ready to gift as you said). I’ve already pre sold a few of both. I’m selling on sat May 11 at a nearby wine shop plus my own customers/ social .

Yes I have always raised my price on Mother’s Day and so does every florist I know and have ever worked for. Normally I sell $35 bouquets, on Mother’s Day I sell $65 and $140 bouquets. We are in NZ and flower prices always double if not triple.
