Increasing numbers of Druze residents of the Golan Heights quietly applying for Israeli citizenship

The Druze community of the Golan Heights has historically rejected Israeli offers of citizenship, identifying publicly with Syria. However, an increasing number of community members indicating a generational shift in sentiment.

Terrorism is not allowed in the Druze Religion as killing the innocent goes against what it is to be Druze. The Druze may only harm or kill another person in self defence or the defence of others.

@@M-L450 you unfortunately have no logic in your statement. I haven’t mentioned Israel, I’ve stated the rules for the Druze to be a Druze. If a Druze becomes a murderous Terrorist he is damned, no religious wedding, no religious funeral and he is ostracised from his community, that applies whether he’s from Israel, Syria, Lebanon or Jordan. Here in Australia there is a huge Druze population and not since around 1870 has a single one been charged with murder. If I had a choice between Israel and the terrorists I’d have to choose Israel as they don’t deliberately target civilians, women and children like terrorists.

@@TheCanaaniteUnionist we tried that before, their leaders won't allow it as it's against their religion. Tried calling it a city and several other solutions, don't want autonomy, which is really sad. I'm convinced a druze autonomy would do a world of good to the entire region and would quickly become an economical powerhouse. I'd like to see that, but as an Israeli i'd much rather they migrate here, i'd even go as far as saying they're the ONLY non jewish nation welcomed to live here as a whole by the vast majority of jews. Which speaks volumes, we welcome non jewish individuals all the time, never a nation. Jews and Druze might be the only example in modern history of two countries coexisting perfectly together as one without marrying.

The Golan was historically part of Israel. The Israelite cities and towns of Katzrin, Gamla, Yahuddiya are just a few examples. Historically, politically, economically, legally, thr Golan is an inseparable part of Israel. Occupied Aram, aka the Arab colonynof Syria is a creation of the French and English in the Sykes-Picot agreement. It is a fake country that has no legitimacy. It includes lands belonging to Aramaens, Kurds, Druze etc.
