Great flying too, I liked the rolls you did.
@G_Cs2 жыл бұрын
>"I liked the rolls you did" Agree. That aroused my curiosity though whether the full-size Concord could do a barrel roll. Luckily, there is a KZbin video of a British pilot (Brian Walpole) that was flying with one of the French test pilots (Jean Franch). The French pilot decided he would show that it is possible to do a barrel roll, so he did one, then asked the British pilot to do one the other way. The British pilot says they told him he was the only British to ever do a barrel roll in the Concord, which makes me wonder, how many times did the French do one? The video does not say whether the French pilot had done one before, but it certainly implies he had done a barrel roll at least once before to have made the statement that it was possible and that he would prove it to the British pilot.

Wow, this RC airplane is absolutely incredible! The power and thrust generated by those 4 JetCat P300 Turbines is mind-blowing. It's amazing that this model Concorde is able to replicate the features of the real plane, like the cockpit lowering for better visibility during takeoff and landing. The exhaust gas temperature and speed are simply astounding. The fact that it consumes almost 4 liters of fuel per minute is a testament to the sheer amount of power needed to keep this beast in the air. I'm in awe of this flight and can't stop watching it!
@benklingman Жыл бұрын
Yea so you are spot on, but in actuality I don’t think its replicating the Concorde very much, a plane like that couldn’t just scale down. The Concorde has its unique shape and propulsions systems for its unique aerodynamic performance at high altitudes and speeds. This is like most rc planes, the aerodynamics of the vehicle help but there is not a lot of actual flying involved in the design, more like stacked gas guzzling turbines that could make most objects of similar size get airborne. The control surfaces are so large in proportion to the wings, I believe it’s because this is not flying by wing per say, but being blasted through the air with super powerful turbine engines, and controlled by common aircraft control surfaces. If the engines cut it would drop out of the sky like a rock.

This thing has real jet engines. But much smaller and most important: without afterburners. I think it should be possible to add afterburners to this engines if we get metal alloy capable to handle 1000-1500 Celsius and proper tools. In those engines, fuel can be burn also with temperature up to 1500C, but there is a small magic that holds fire away from metal. This magic is a air flow due to compressor stage at front of turbine engine (turbine engine = jet engine).
