Excellent uke work. Well done. Really showcased the mastery of aiki principles. Keep in mind that if the Shihan were to break connection for a second, he would be open to all the counter attacks available in each situation. His mastery shows that he is able to keep the connection alive from beginning to when he chooses to release it.

The ukes perform a very beautiful and interesting work. I do appreciate their excellent skills. That said, if you believe that what is shown here can work in a fight, I am afraid you will be going through a bad experience if, unfortunately, you will be facing one. You do not have to believe me but, please, try to show this video to anyone that trains in a combat sport and listen to their opinion before believing in the effectiveness of what this video shows.

I wonder how many Aikido practitioners practice Judo Or Hapkido.

I dont know anything about Aikido. I think in the old days long before we have DVD or KZbin it is important to have demo like this to capture the key spirit. Also most if not all ancient fighting skills were invented to kill in combat scenarios. But once modernized and changing all for competitions only all the unique killing moves are removed and all becomes looking like dancing show in layman's eyes.

Ukemi fantastic. Can’t say much about the Sensei. Not even moving.

Too compleasant for my taste and idea of the practice but thx for sharing

Not sure if compleasant is a word, but it does seem to convey a meaning :-) ... Anyhow ... lesser compliance on the part of the uke's wouldn't be able to demonstrate the full range of the connections that this Shihan is making.

@@lancejackson9108 Yup, it's why i find it compleasant, but it's just my opinion :)

Ballet... Gives a bad idea of the self defence in aikido. The ukes look like toys.... But thanks for sharing

Alexandre Francisco this does not give a bad idea, you just formed a bad opinion of it! It is really an excellent demonstration of advanced Aikido.. But thanks for sharing.

@@IronicSanity i dont agree my friend.... This is not Aikido, this is gimnastic.... Merry Christmas my friend

At this level, the vulgarity of 'self defence' is long surpassed. Here, the uke's really know how to move, blend, coordinate, and facilitate the truth of the practice, which is connectedness. Lower level uke's can't work up to this standard.

@@lancejackson9108 what happen on rhe moment that uke touchs Sensei? Magic? Both ukes go down on rhe moment they Touch Sensei arm.... Why? Magic? Im Aikidoka and i know what ia this... This is movement ONLY... This is coreography

Alexandre Francisco, perhaps you should practice Aidido for about 10 years to understand Aikido as well as this guy before discrediting him.
