I dont do it much anymore but I started magnet fishing in 1998. But I’m in a very rural area . We just got on our fishing boat and did it for kicks. Lost many magnets in the river also. Never found much. Now it perks my interest to go to England and try it out. I’ll never get there though, lol, so thanks for making these videos! Sending good luck from Ayden, North Carolina, USA

Hi Marie the oval iron item you found 30 minutes into the video is a 18th century shoe iron. This oval Shoe Patten or sometimes called shoe irons, were riveted to a piece of wood, which was then attached to the underneath of a shoe via leather straps to lift the wearer out of the mud, these were often banned from use in churches due to the noise they made on the stone floor. I love your magnet videos keep up the great work. Steve Parkes.

The little winder handle looks exactly like the handle from the old manual metal pencil sharpeners that were mounted on huge old desks in early school houses. The students would line up single file to sharpen their pencils at the beginning of each school day. My father, who would now be in his 110s, had one and he told me all about it.

❤❤❤I remember those dam ankle breakers… half the time they 😮loosened 😮and down you went and depending on the crash’s time would tell if you sprained, broke or just really just messed up your leg but could still get around OK. It was almost guaranteed your pants needed a major repair job. Thanks for the reminders of a time where you could really hurt yourself with toys that at the time were sold every where and were eagerly bought for us kids. Later after the fight over the skate key off you went and if you could skate, you’d feel like you were flying until you hit the enviable bump on the side walk. Crash. Ow ow ow. Can I stand? I better! Because if I can’t I have to give up the skates to my sister! And Mom is going to be so mad!
