Plase help us send this car viral, because the amount of filler and bodgery on this car really is impressive AND I have to somehow rebuild this thing....
Just when you thought the Disaster Datsun couldn't get any worse, it then got worse... no word of a lie, when removing the incredible amounts of filler/bondo on this classic car, I was absolutely gob smacked! & it just got worse throughout the video! We actually did find some sort of decent metal underneath all the bodgery and we used that to weld a new wheel arch in place. Getting that arch on makes it somewhat looking less of a Disaster.
This once abandoned Datsun 260z really has thrown up many suprises, but as we always say, this ain't nothing we can't handle. in places, the filler was over an inch thick and we thought thr best tools of choice were ofcourse a sledge hammer, as well as a hammer and chissel.
TOPDON kindly sent us thr TC004 for testing, are we gotta say it is impressive, if you are after a thermal camera then we would recommend this TC004 without doubt.

I love your sense of humour as well as your skill attacking the rust( pun intended). I like these cars but couldn’t afford one when younger but I had its little brother the 120y coupe. Generally well build little car with a good willing little motor. I could only imagine how these went by comparison. To see this bogged car it seemed more like a sculpture in fiber glass and rust, just unimaginable that it was allowed on the road. Keep up these great vlogs. Looking forward to the next installment.

I'm always baffled by the time it must have taken to shape this much filler, and also the quantity. I feel bad if I've used one kg bucket on an entire car, even though half of it has been sanded. But they would have needed at the very least 4-5kg on each half of the car to have that much left after sanding. I've seen something similar, a 77 Firebird which probably hit a side rail. Not a single trace of a hammer hit was found, it was completely "fixed" with body filler. And there was two inches of filler to shape the wheel arches. They did replace the door...
