Yeah, I'm a roofer. One of the best in my area with over 30 years experience. We repair more than 1500 roos per year. The solar stack solution is a terrible one. How are you going to repair the roof if there's a leak under the adhesive? This is not unlike many other solutions that have been tried over the years that prevent access to the roof. Very very very expensive to make repairs under a solar system that is not properly mounted on a stanchion type system You have been warned.

Anything that is "not properly mounted" will make repair harder. These mounting blocks have been around for years on roofs that don't allow penetration. You're saying a little spot of glue is a major obstacle? Also, don't put a mount on a hole, then no leak to repair on the *roof.

Notice how the electric road is designed for cars and probably costs $$$$. If it were designed for a bike path that could use any number of new EV devices like bikes, scooters, unicycles and segways the cost would be far, far less, power requirements far less and encourage use of alternate transport and reducing congestion. Plus covering a bike path with solar in places that have sun is far easier to install and maintain will providing the power needed for bike path. But hey, lets keep pushing cars as a solution.
@MyWeedgrower2 жыл бұрын
why solar bike paths and not just solar sidewalks? nyc has 12,000 miles of sidewalk vs 1,500 miles of bike lanes. even just parking lots like walmart or mcd's having them fully solar would cut power usage nationwide
@dailyrider29752 жыл бұрын
@@MyWeedgrowerAbsolutely, very true. But I should have put in time 11:15 where they are talking about using road to power cars and buses. Bikes and personal EVs would require a lot less infrastructure to do the same and probably be more beneficial was my point. Interestingly it turns out in sunny areas covering ponds and aqueducts with solar helps solar panels stay cooler and water from evaporating. In California those water areas would provide enough solar power to meet the 2050 goals they are trying to reach.

Sorry, nope. Wireless induction works at the inverse square distance law. Ie each unit of distance generates a loss of power squared. So with ground vehicles being 30 to 60 cm from the induction coils that is still an appreciable but also still barely acceptable loss of power energy. Projecting power over kilometers into the air not only results in massive energy loss, it would also result in strong electromagnetic fields that would mess incredibly with electronics. So, nope.
