Enjoyed watching video. It brought back memories of the 1950's when Pullmans were in regular use and you couldn't read the names on the sides due to the speeds on the central lines. You could also watch the local midland arrivals from Bedford. There were also numerous freight giving much more variety of locos.

To summarize the video, half of the trains are Electrostar and Thameslink trains to & from Cambridge/Peterborough, and among the remainder, two thirds are Class 43 and Clas 91+82 rushing through ECML to north. And among the remainder, half is Hull Train/Grand Central's Class 180. The only noteworthy ones are the remaining 1/12 of all services, and that's what trainspotters want.

That's what I'm thinking Andrei. Their both part of First so I guess it makes sense to get training in, so HT's can get their units quickly into service as they need to be shut of their 180's before they wreck their reputation any more! Those bloody things have been dogged with issues since day one!

Excellent video. But I am extremely puzzled by the last paragraph of your otherwise excellent introduction. You refer to the 'current' March 2016 timetable! In Australia one hears about the terrible British railways from their local communists who want to go back to their Soviet days like Corbyn does in the future and renationalize the railways and help send the country broke as railways bleed the treasury to death , but believe me all these trains on this video makes our trains look like they are from the Victorian era , man to me these trains are fast and modern .
@RichardChalklin5 жыл бұрын
They have very short memories Bruce. We have a saying here, the local commuter trains we call 'Bone Shakers' that's an old 1970's British Rail saying. The new ones are far from Bone Shakers as opposed to the 70's when you were lucky if the train had any usable seats or if it even had windows
@bruceburns16725 жыл бұрын
Richard Chalklin One has to laugh these days because Capitalist China with a Communist front as a government has thousands of high speed ultra modern trains while Communist Britain and Australia with a Capitalist front as a government has near zero or non , we live in strange times .
@tsu80035 жыл бұрын
Funnily enough the East coast mainline company has just been renationalised and renamed the LNER in reference to the glory days of the LNER when it was at the forefront of train designs with such iconic trains like the A3 and A4 Pacifics! Shame that the new livery is red though and not the iconic LNER blue but that's only because the new trains that are were ordered by VTEC before they lost the contract were already red and it saves money having to repaint them and change the upholstery.
